Having a birthday party every year for a dead baby

So a chick I know had a baby die at 1 month old like 5 years ago. Sudden infant death deal.
She has a full birthday party every year with cake and stuff. Sends out invitations. Encourages people to bring presents which she then donates somewhere.
I know we all grieve in our own way but this doesnt seem particularly healthy.

I hope you never lose a child. You have no clue what sort of special hell that is.
And so what? She celebrates the birth of her child, and donates the gifts to a worthy cause. Who is she hurting exactly?

Probably one of the creepiest things I've ever heard of.

To be honest, I would probably be a lot crazier than that.
If that's all she does, I don't see the big deal.

That's not healthy. I can't imagine going through something like that but having a birthday party is a bit over the top. I don't see a problem with the donations, though.

Show up every year to the birthday and drop the phrase "seems like your child is running a lite late for their own party"

Yeah. I know people grieve in different ways, but this is rather odd.

How so?
It's only been 5 years.
Some of you people (thankfully) don't have a clue what that is like.

Sending out invites to celebrate this is absolutely a means for attention. Keep it a private family celebration. Donate your own god damn gifts.

It's probably a healthy way for her to get others to console her.

Sounds weird, but I've never lost a child, which has got to be one of the most devastating things ever, especially at such a young age. There was that social media post that went viral a year or two ago of the guy holding his baby that he would knew would die shortly after birth. I found it pretty disturbing to share such a thing with the world, but like others have said, I've never been in that situation so I try not to judge. I doubt I would grieve in such a way.
