Bryant is a year older and not near as good (although he is still very good).
I can't even begin to guess Harper's contract especially if baseball inflation continues the way it has the past few years. It's going to be huge.

Since the last guy to hit .400 in a season, who also hit 500+ career home runs played his entire career with Boston.
Seriously, they moved the bullpens at Fenway in because of Ted Williams.

If the market is as it is now it has to be $400M. But if the economy tanks again it wont be for $400, I would say $350 at 10 and club options later and player options earlier, such as club gets years 9 and 10 and player gets 7 and 8.
If there are options early into the contract I think he would settle for less so that he could earn another big contract. I may be wrong though, who knows?

I was wondering the same thing. Didi Gregorius crushed a flyball out to end the game Monday night that would have been a game winner in nearly any other park

I thought it was a nightmare for Lefty pitchers and a great park for lefty hitters.

Nah, it's 303 to the foul pole. It's 380 to dead right.

Yep, it goes straight out after the foul pole. You have to hook it to get it around the foul pole to hit one 303. Plus you basically have to hit it 390 to get it out since the fence is so low and the fielder can catch anything that is close.

I'm thinking 930 Million.

Assuming he keeps his MVP level of play up
That is a big if imo. He hasn't proven yet that he can that or stay injury free. Trout on the other hand, has proven exactly that.

Hearing these numbers scares me with Correa's eventual mega deal. Doesn't matter though, CC1 will be an astro for life

You laugh, and the $650 is certainly way out there.
But if Cabrera gets $292m at, what, 30 or so years old, what is so crazy about Harper getting 12/$400 ish at 26, assuming he plays like he has this season for a few more years?

If baseball salaries keep exploding, $500 million isn't out of the picture.

Fenway is a favorable park for any hitter. It's the smallest playing field by area in the majors and also has the smallest foul territory in the majors. Outside of the triangle in center at 420', it is favorable in every direction.
