Lots of criminal elements did not leave and saw an opportunity by remaining. Contractors were shot at by criminal elements afterward. Military with little-to-no real ammo was in the Convention Center immediately post-Katrina.

Contractors and Military were assisted. By who neither person knows or will say or were aware. But the threat was real and the threat was neutralized by someone or group of someone's.

Someone or some group of someone's whose method of neutralizing the threat was described as being done with, "extreme fricking prejudice."

Trust both of those sources like family. Neither are given to hyperbole. Never heard the "Two SEAL teams working," bullshite, but threatening, highly sketchy situations were dealt with in Ninja fashion.

Whomever was operating at that time, they had high levels of coordination and had high level G2 of issues as they were happening in the City. Seems difficult to imagine coordination on that level without local or federal authorities providing info in almost real time.

If you can't trust Mama D who can you trust? Its part of the "isms" conspiracy. The Congressional testimony is pure gold of historical truth"isms".

I've heard stories from a reliable source that threats against hospitals were neutralized by the SEALS. The part that could not be verified is if those bodies would ever be found.

If any SEALs were at CHNOLA, it was at least 3 days after landfall. Children's is practically on the toe of the levee and did not flood. The staff at Children's was largely on their own. The last patients were evacuated by staff in a convoy of ambulances and personal vehicles to MSY, where they were flown out on a Missouri Nat'l Guard C-130 to Children's Hospital of Kansas City. No Navy SEALs were involved in that operation.
