Spaceballs, Uncle Buck, and PT&A are 3 of my favorite comedies ever. No coincidence they all starred the same guy

Clearly y'all have never seen Armed and Dangerous. John Candy and Eugene Levy were at the top of their game for my favorite John Candy movie.

Honorable Mention for Stripes even though he wasn't the lead.

His hilarious role as Tom Hanks' brother Freddie in Splash is what catapulted him to super stardom.

His early appearances on Letterman were amazing. His talent as a talk show guest was untouched.

I love John Candy!

Is Home Alone considered a John Candy film? He is a side character, but he had some great moments in the film.

...ok, films where he was a main character...

1. Uncle Buck
2. The Great Outdoors
3. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
4. Spaceballs
5. Summer Rental

Personally, I thought his cameo in Vacation was one of the things that made that movie a classic.

I loved him on SCTV, too. Wish I could find a clip of "The Midnight Cowboy 2 - In Super 3D".

ETA...My best friend growing up had a video disc player (yes...early 80s) and had a copy of stripes.

"I'm a lean, mean, fighting machine"...
"How's it goin' Eisenhower"...

I loved his delivery.

Who else tears up when Candy tells Martin at the end of PTA about his wife dying years ago? That scene gets me everytime.
