In the 19th century, Hugh Glass (DiCaprio), a fur trapper, is mauled by a bear while hunting. His companions (Hardy, Poulter, Haas, and Gleeson) rob him and leave him to die, but he survives and sets out to get revenge on the men who betrayed him

This movie is based on a best selling book:
quote:
Michael Punke’s The Revenant tells a story of nearly unimaginable human endurance over 3,000 miles of uncharted American wilderness, spanning what is today the Dakotas, Montana, Wyoming, and Nebraska. Based on the real life of fur trapper Hugh Glass, The Revenant recounts the toll of envy and betrayal, and the power of obsession and vengeance. Punke’s novel opens in 1823, when thirty-six-year-old Hugh Glass joins the Rocky Mountain Fur Co. on a venture into perilous, unexplored territory. After being savagely mauled by a grizzly bear, his nearly lifeless body is left in the care of two volunteers from the company—John Fitzgerald, a ruthless mercenary, and young Jim Bridger, the future “King of the Mountain Men.” When Indians approach their camp, Fitzgerald and Bridger abandon Glass. Worse yet, they rob the wounded man of his weapons and tools—the very things that might have given him a chance on his own. Deserted, defenseless, and furious, Glass vows his survival. And his revenge.

There is no way this isn't going to be a damn good movie with who all is involved.

This thing has some interesting stories about its production.
Inarittu insisted that the thing be filmed in order and in as much natural light as possible. Because of the in order thing, in went way over in time.

This looks visually incredible. Definitely a theater movie.
Trailer didn't give away anything about the plot really and no dialogue so people are upset, but with the people involved, I have little doubt this is going to be a good movie at worst.

I'm not worried about the trailer really, but it doesn't seem to jive much with the description in the OP.

Man in the Wilderness was a very interesting movie. Looking forward to seeing it updated with The Revenant.

Was Leo having sex while they recorded the trailer music?

Based on the trailer, I have no idea if its a good or bad movie.

I think it looks good. Will probably be intense.
But is this going to be a memorable Leo performance and movie like we've seen so often over the past decade? Probably not. Just doesn't seem to have the plot.
