Giving up Asik and Gordon just for Noah?
Lol no.
Lol no.

then say Asik costs a fraction of what Noah does?
Cap hit is basically $5M difference, so yes, that's pretty significant in a salary cap sport.

Age is kind of an arbitrary thing to worry about. Now, "miles on tires" - that is worth discussing. Ask has played 8100 minutes, including playoffs. Noah is at 18,300.
One year, 16 months, whatever. That isn't nearly as big of a deal as 10,000 minutes

Is Noah a cornerstone? Why would we trade THE cornerstone for some guy?

Noah's assist to turnover ratio was 2.6 last season, Asik's was .69
Also, Noah has been a much better free throw shooter over his career.
ETA: not saying I'd want to make the trade, but there are definitely things that Noah is better at. I'm sure most non-biased observers would agree that Noah is the better offensive player.

Thank you. People don't seem to understand basketball

Asik played like he had logged 20,000 minutes before last year.
He is also on par with Steisma when it comes to offense.
He is without a doubt the worst offensive starting center in the league. He clogs the lane, cant catch, cant pass, and shoots below 60% despite 99% of his shots coming from within 2 feet of the basket.
I've already made it known i think he sucks and don't want him back, but understand we may have to take him back b/c of salary issues.
I'd be ok trading him for just about anything.
I think Noah is a perfect fit with AD, and i would love to have him.

I'd argue he's better than the Noah we saw last year
PER/Per 36 pts/TS%/ORB%
Asik 15.5 - 10.1 - 54.5% - 14.0%
Noah 15.3 - 8.5 - 48.2% - 11.9%
I don't think some people in this thread realize just how terrible Noah was last year. I don't remember what his injury was, but it's clear he wasn't himself. How long term the effects will be is kind of an important question.

He actually can pass.

Lol, that's not a lot at all. WTF world are y'all living in.
Noah is a year removed from a 12/11/5ast season.
he's the best passing center in the league and a really good defensive player. And a much more competent offensive played than Asik, despite a low PPG. Plus he can make free throws.s
On his career he's averaged 29minutes per game. Im not sure how that is overworked.

You can look at all the numbers you want. You know damn well he's not better than Noah.
Noah had Butler this year, and thats pretty much it. how that team made it as far as they did with their roster amd injuries is a testament to how well there coach was, and how bad the East is.

If your calling EG the cornerstone, your a little blind.
Posted on 6/9/15 at 4:26 pm to Galactic Inquisitor
For the people who say no would yal rather Greg Monroe over Asik? Because once Monty backed Asik he was out of the door. Him and dell bumped heads over a trade for Greg Monroe last year that Monty didn't let happen. Wanted Asik.

gotta love Pels talk
2014- Ryan Anderson is untradeable
now- get whatever you can get for him
2014- Get whatever you can for Eric Gordon
now- key cog and best 3P shooter in the league
2014- Noah is DPOY and 1st Team All NBA
now- Asik (who everyone hates to begin with) is better than Noah
hey what else can we overreact to???

You do realize that sports opinions can evolve based on the most current data, correct?
I don't think that Asik is better than Noah, but Noah was absolutely bad this past year.
Gordon played well. I'm not giving up both of them for a guy Chicago doesn't want who might be done.

It's not just Pels talk, Stretch 4s are done is becoming a thing now.

I think Gordon's history, contract and lack of production/playing time with the team makes this a pretty fair assessment and valid flip flop.

I don't know what Noah's injury status is, all I know is that in the playoff game I watched the commentators were using him to hammer Thibs for ruining players. Is he injured or is he ruined? All the "anti Noah" posters in this thread have said that trading for him isn't a slam dunk without more information on his condition, not that Asik > Noah, just that Asik > ruined Noah.

Are you telling me that Ryan Anderson and Joakim Noah are DONE after each had a shitty, injury plagued season and that Eric Gordon is now a iron man, 45% 3P shooting, key cog for the Pels?
I'll judge a player on his body of work and take into account the circumstances which caused a poor season last year.
You can judge a guy based off one bad season and declare them done
