re: Bulls to shop Noah

Ryno had an awful injury and I doubt he had much trade value. He was preforming at a near all star level prior to that at 8 mil a year.
I can understand wanting to stand pat
He's an expiring now that will get interest even after a down year. He's the most tradeable piece but he'll likely stick around till the ASB.
I think you're exaggerating how much some want him gone(it's not asik level)
Most knew EG wouldn't be traded and the hate was more directed at his contract+"heart in PHX" butthurt left over. That has subsided greatly and most are fine with him after his "transformation".
This thread is a pie in the sky scenario. There's a vocal minority that despises asik and I don't think the ENTIRE board hates him.
We're stuck with him and they're looking for a way out. Noah has legit concerns and there's good counterpoints in this thread IMO.

No. B/c comparing Asik to Noah is just dumb, and how anyone that knows anything about basketball can say with straight face that Asik is comparable is beyond me.
he averaged a double/double 5 straight years before this past injury riddled year.
he was the DPOY of the year last year and 1st team all NBAer
He went from being a 75% free throw shooter those 5 years to a 60% shooter this year. that's not normal. THat's like Chandler going from a a sub 60% free throw shooter in NO, then all of a sudden he jumps up to 73% in one year with a change of scenery. Even dumber is Chandler shot 73% in CHA and Dal the two years after NO, then shot 69/69/63 in 3 years in NY, then back up to 72 in Dallas this year. It's as if his FT% reflects how much he likes to play for the team he is on.
I agree he was bad on offense this past year. Rose missed 30 games this year, and wasn't himself when he was playing usually. Butler missed 18. Gibson missed 20. They had the worst bench in the NBA.
Noah missed 15 himself, and had nagging injuries all year.
How they finished with 50 wins is quite a feat considering the team they fielded this year. The East sucks too.
He needs a change of scenery.

Noah played 33 mpg in the playoffs and outside of his %s, his per 36 numbers were in line with the previous seasons
His offensive struggles were well documented, but a player doesn't just forget how to shoot. Injuries and rust were real

I'm just asking how real. I've generally dismissed the "Thibs ruins players" angle because 1) it seems silly based on how players used to play back in the day and 2) Luol Deng seems to have found his efficiency thanks to no longer being asked to be a 1st option. But I still see people acting like he's a dead man walking even though the numbers say he had a good season for Miami.

Pffft, we all know you can't break an established narrative. :P

Deng had his best shooting year in a few years in miami. He had 10.9 FGA versus roughly 14 in CHI.
The lower FGA really helped him and his TS% was 56.1% versus 51ish in CHI.
Played right around 33.5 mins versus 39 and he still was just as productive.
Maybe it IS change of scenery?

Typical post from you. Why post Noah career ppg but not asik? Bc it makes your post look better. Asik career averages 5 ppg and Noah averages 9. Asik only averaged 7 ppg this season. Still less than Noah career. Noah can pass and turns ball over same amount yet handles ball way more.

And he averaged 4 more assists per game. Would be great with AD. Noah can throw the lob. Would also be great for AD. Post all the stats

Noah, imo, would be a huge gamble if you were giving up Gordon and Asik. But I also think both will do well in Gentry's system. Asik (historically) is a very good outlet passer for the break. Gordon is tailor made for the break. I like Noah, but I'm not giving up too much for him. Oh, and his salary . . .

I'm not saying I would trade EG and asik for Noah but that's not the argument people are making. Yall mfers are saying asik is better than Noah even on offense bc Noah had one bad season. Asik can't even catch the frickin ball hardly.
Posted on 6/9/15 at 6:21 pm to LSU1SLU
Asik played far fewer minutes early in his career vs Noah so it's not a fair comparison to compare just the career PPG stats.
Noah's Per 36 PPG career wise is 11.5 vs 10.3 for asik so not a huge difference.
Asik averaged 15 MPG vs nearly 25 for Noah early on.

This season they were about the same and the numbers actually favor asik.
Career wise yes Noah is better but not by a huge amount.

Cmon man, have you ever watched Noah play? He's undoubtedly better than Asik.
Is he better than Asik+Gordon? I'm not willing to say that, but he's definitely better than Asik alone.

You're reading me wrong. Noah is better than asik but this year they were pretty comparable. Their offensive numbers aren't far off.
I'm a fan of Noahs btw.

Absolutely agree but there's legit questions and giving up 2 starters for a moderate upgrade isn't smart imo.
Noah>>Asik? Absolutely
Noah>>Asik+EG? I lean no

Noah and Snelll for EG, Asik and a first
Posted on 6/9/15 at 7:48 pm to LosLobos111
I can agree with that, but if we're losing EG after this season anyway, then it may be worth it. I don't think anyone believes this team is winning a championship next year.
Maybe something like Asik and Gordon for Noah and Snell.
ETA: funny, I didn't even see your Snell post. I don't think I'd give up a first for him, though.

Noah is a UFA after 15-16 season BTW
Posted on 6/9/15 at 8:39 pm to LosLobos111
Right, but you'd have his Bird Rights.
ETA: I guess it won't be that big of a deal that off season because of the cap inflation.
