Seriously, LSU is as good as anyone in the country, but to act like there aren't weaknesses is dumb. With luck they can easily win it all. Let's hope our starters pitch deep into games and our hitters don't let that Florida game bring them down and we will be ok.

Thank you. I've been saying for a long time this board needs a bit more despair.

Yea I remember the team with the super batting average and record we were scared of before the games even started.

question of terminology...

can "overconfidence" be reasonably determined before the game? Or series of games?

Or does the term itself mean that there was high confidence, that unexpectedly resulted in a loss?

OP: are we "overconfident"? Or just highly confident?

Not true at all, I remember the threads pretty much saying our tickets were punched for the CWS. it was a shock to damn near everyone that they beat us.

LOL. UCLA's players are reading TD at this very moment saying to themselves "Hey look at that overconfidence the derps are displaying. Frick man we got this"

While I usually get a good laugh at the overconfidence threads relating to football, I actually believe that there is a good chance at least someone from the baseball team may actually read these threads. Pumping their heads up too much could be a bad thing.
We should let them know how good they are but also constructively criticize them. I think that would help the team out very much.

TigerTow = troll. You are in a posting slump. Were the two previous games part of the slump?

Talk about looking forward, we wouldn't play UCLA till the CWS final.

Let's hope it doesn't carry over to the team. Tulane and Wilmington will be ready. If LSU doesn't get out of their hitting slump they are in danger of not making it out of the regional. It is well known that our pitching beyond our starters isn't that good. But hopefully the stars align and we make it out of this difficult regional. Go Tigers!!!!!

Wait a minure, didn't realize 9 hits equals a hitting slump, but I guess when they are constantly banging out double digits hits/game, I can see why someone might think that qualifies for a slump...

statistically speaking it does qualify

so there is our bar. 10 hits minimum, or we're fricked

We would be in trouble! But I cannot imagine their fans being very cocky headed into the Box...

Only 1 run on 9 hits in the last game. OP thinks the sky has fallen.

Some of y'all are never going to get over the fact that we lost a three-game series to Stony Brook, are you?

Goddamn, that is the 1/9 of baseball.
