They should have never taken his show off the air.
Sports Show was seriously underrated.
His SNL monologue after being fired was the GOAT.

I love Dirty Work so much.

NM is in my hall of fame if only for one joke. He was doing the SNL Weekend Update in '95 or so and said this, in his matter-of-fact tone of voice and with an incredulous semi-smirk on his face:
"After the OJ Simpson acquittal verdict was announced, Washington DC mayor Marion Berry urged both white Americans and black Americans... To help get him some crack."
My favorite Weekend Update joke of Norm was him showing a picture a a burning Vietnamese village with children running from it and crying, and Norm says "In other news, Woody Allen is dating again!"

He told some joke that was pretty anti-woman. It got some jeers and a few boos from the crowd, then he said "oh pipe down! For your information one of our female writers wrote that joke" then everyone calmed down and kind of had some accepting laughs. Then he came back with "nah just kidding, we dont' hire women here"

Supposedly, one of the big reasons he got fired from SNL was that he kept making jokes about OJ on Weekend Update, and the head of NBC was one of OJ's best friends. I quit watching SNL for a long time after he was fired.

norm's voice sometime narrates my thoughts which is cool.
after Got on sunday i had this thought which is funnier in norm's voice and delivery.
"yes ramsay, lying to your husband is a pretty bad way to start a marriage.
you know another bad way to start a marriage....being raped in front of the guy you think murdered your brothers."

Haha. That's strangely accurate Norm joke.

He is by far the best ever on the SNL News, or as he put it, "I'm Norm MacDonald, and here's the fake news".
I'm not sure if was just him, or him plus the writing, but it was so perfect- MEAN-spirited funny, which if done correctly, is the funniest of funny,
O.J., Michael Jackson, David Hasselhoff, Elizabeth Taylor, etc.- all were nailed hard every Saturday night.

"Michael Jackson has named Elizabeth Taylor as the godmother of his new child. This will undoubtedly lead to arguments as whether to molest the baby, or eat the baby".
"Michael Jackson's new baby appears to be a chip off the old block. Today, the 5-day old baby got out of his crib at the Hospital Nursery and molested a 1-day old baby".
"This year's most-popular toy from Christmas is the Tickle Me Elmo doll. This year's least-popular toy- the Tickle Me Frank Stallone doll".

I laugh out loud every time I think about this one.

He reminds me of Super Dave Osborne.

Does anyone know the real, behind the scenes story of his firing? Was it the relentless OJ and Marion Berry jokes, or did he have a fight with an executive, etc.?

His show on Comedy Central was the GOAT.

UFC and WEC have merged to form a new sport....murder
A jockey got arrested for domestic violence..."Now folks there isn't anything funny about domestic violence...except when a really tiny person does it...I bet she has lots of marks...on her legs."

So much I could say about Norm. I love his work. I celebrate his entire catalog. I have a raging mancrush on the guy.
And on and on.
Sports Show was the frickin tits too. Comedy Central could've had a solid sports hour with that and the Onion show, though it seemed they were auditioning both shows with the idea of choosing one...
...And then fricking chose neither. Onion Show was pretty good. Norm's was awesome.
quote:Yes. Yes. Yes! It's so great! Chris Farley with the half nose that was bitten off by that filthy Saigon whore. Chevy Chase as the gambling addict Dr. who got murdered anyway. Big Ben Healey reprising his familiar role as pervy old dude, only now older and pervier. Shooter McGavin--GOAT comedic villian, only now with a toy dog to make him even more hateable.
I love Dirty Work so much.

I didn't get why CC gave it the quick hook. They've let much worse continue on longer
