Haha! The negatigers don't know how to react. Priceless.
Les's troll meter just hit 10

Don't laugh. More of this is probably true than you think. The only things I would add is that Harris' injury and lack of playbook mastery basically sealed the deal for him in 2014. I don't believe in any way Miles thinks AJ is the hope of the future (though his improvement would be a big plus) but instead it was our only option given Harris aforementioned issues. I fully expect Harris to end up running the show at the right time- probably this season.
I was listening to finebaum last night on the way home from work. A Sean called in and talked about LSU. Said he is a hs coach and that Williams was one of his players. I'm guessing it was that galmore guy. Well anyway he said both qbs looked 110% better than when he was there last spring. A lot of people are sleeping on LSU. Thinks Jennings has a better grasp, but also thinks Harris will win the job.
I think they wanted Harris all along or they never would have started him. I'm not buying into the bullshite because people didn't like one starting qb out of the 9 diff starters Les has had. And IMO, Lee wasn't better than JJ anyway.

frank herron will be the qb. he's only gotten better since his phenominal fall camp of 2014.
You do realize they praise other players that do play meaningful snaps at LSU rt? Omg frank herron didn't play. Les is a liar!!

This thread is going to blow up. Won't be long before JJ/JL comes in. I'll go ahead and throw in my opinion.
His comments were made for a few reasons.
1. The psyche of a QB. Your first start in a hostile environment and you lay an egg. Whether it's your fault or not. That crap lingers. It can hinder development. He's trying to take pressure off his QBs. No doubt everyone who is an LSU faithful is watching that position. At what 19 years old? That's huge pressure
2. He's owning up to his mistakes. While he's not in danger of losing his job, he's definitely under pressure for his management of the QBs. All outcomes whether positive or not fall into him. I like it. It shows responsibility and courage in my book
3. He's setting the stage. Let's be honest, outside the QB position, LSU is in great position this year. Alabama will be down with losing that talent, but they'll definitely reload. Auburn is reloading. A&M is a dumpster fire. Moo st is rebuilding. Arky is improving. Ole Miss has legitimate power outside QB. It's LSU's to lose in my opinion. Completely stacked. Got to continue to build his team.
I'm not saying either QB is going to come out and win the heismsan, but he's definitely moving in the right direction with his players. I for one, love it right now. Simply cannot wait for football season.

Which is something we all knew...
It was a win-win situation for Miles... Harris plays good, Miles looks good. Harris plays bad, which he did, it got people off his back about the QB spot and Jennings. Kind of like a "I know what I'm doing. Played the true freshman everyone wanted to see and look what happened" kind of moment.
But I'm glad Miles is taking up for Harris and taking some of the blame for that game. I mean Harris was making his 1st start of his career as a true freshman, on the road vs a really good Auburn team that had a very good offense. We were gonna have to score a lot of points to keep up with them last year, regardless who was at QB. But there was no way that Harris would have been able to do that as a true freshman.
Props to Miles for taking some of the blame and backing / supporting Harris

I called it before the game that he would handcuff Harris and put him under center and Harris would play terrible and we'd be down 17-0 before we knew it. It was all so predictable.
Sure, blame it all on Miles.
Harris played borderline the worst game of the season by either quarterback against Auburn last season. He was completely awful. And as we would see, Auburn's defense was terrible.

Nahh. The game plan for that game was set for him to fail.

Borderline.
I was there for both. Those were the two worst games of the season probably. Harris' lasted longer. He came out mid-3rd quarter? Jennings came out early in the 2nd. They were both terrible.

He (Harris and Miles) must have been ill-prepared for the rest of the season as well. Miles certainly does have a strong grasp for the obvious. He just chooses to do nothing about it....

As bad as Harris was he threw for a TD and used his legs to get them in field goal range before the half. what did Jennings do in that game?

Thanks for interjecting some humor about Herron. Seems like much of this has been mentioned before.
I suppose with the summer about to start, we're going to see plenty of these threads, especially once baseball season concludes.

Based on Miles' history with QBs, you're giving him way too much credit for having a long-term vision.
Miles is not the only head coach who is good in many areas but can't manage the QB position. It's also akin to a baseball manager who has good rapport with the players but can't manage the bullpen on a daily basis. Any team that has had Dusty Baker can relate to this analogy.

Well whenever he was healthy enough. He did play against Kentucky and Alabama and maybe in another game. If he wasn't healthy that is understandable.
If the coaching staff played him against Kentucky and Alabama when he wasn't healthy enough, then that is on them.
He threw a pic against Kentucky, his only play. Prob due to the injury.
They didn't want him to play vs bama, but Jennings had to come out. He handed the ball off once.

Jennings is the starter until he graduates. Period. He is Leslie's new pet.
At least we know they'll both be gone after 2016.
