What did you want him to do? He did have him throw a couple short passes....they were about 10ft over the rec's head. He turned the wrong way once, hurting us on one series. He would admit later the stage was too big for him at that time....lot of nerves....coupled with the fact that he didn't know the playbook. I mean, there are a bunch of idiots in this thread (as usual), but Miles is doing exactly what he should....stepping up and taking the blame, trying to build his confidence.......for those that can't understand this, it just goes to show how dumb some are in here. He is doing exactly the right thing, and I think it's a very positive sign for BH that Miles is speaking out.

And then he compounded the problem by yanking Harris when he should have bit the bullet and rode him the rest of the year.
Harris played worse than Jennings when the pressure was on. In the opener, and in his start against auburn. The other times he came in we were leading, or the game couldn't have gotten much worse against state.
Then Harris had a high ankle sprain against auburn, this is from Harris, not Miles. Miles said they hadn't settled on a starter for the Florida game after the auburn loss. I'm assuming leading up to the UF game they knew his ankle was bothering him. They reverted to 1930s style ball and rolled off 3 wins in a row and lost in OT against the sec champions. The coaches made the rt call.
You are dumb if you think they should have rolled a hurt true frosh out there. He came in against Kentucky with no pressure and threw a pic. Most likely due to his ankle still bothering him and his ability to plant his feet and make a pass.

add in that he didn't know the playbook, and miles saw that we could at least win with a very conservative pounding running game. It damn near worked.....had they beaten Alabama, who knows what teams shows up against Arky.

There was zero point to putting him in the Auburn game when they distrusted his passing and never intended to allow him to do it. As I saw it, Brandon took a giant blow to his confidence in that first half, administered by his own coaches. They set him up to fail. Certainly one of Les's worst coaching performances. +1
Bullshite. He earned the start with his performances against Miss State and New Mexico St. Les and company knew he didn't know the playbook, but they hoped they could limit that playbook, and maybe BH could improvise and make some more plays. How were they to know the stage was going to be too big? It wasn't like they trusted Jennings either. It was a gamble worth taking, imo.

And I don't even have to say what you are. You have exposed yourself. It's comical that some of you trolls can't even figure out the philosophy of Miles in this.

This is so shocking that LSU has an ill prepared QB

I called it before the game that he would handcuff Harris and put him under center and Harris would play terrible and we'd be down 17-0 before we knew it. It was all so predictable.
Whoop Whoop!!!

that's a step in the right direction. While I feel Jennings improvement along with everybody around him will have us with double digit regular season wins, Harris could be the spark that takes this offense into the elite category.

I said at the time he should work bh into the 2 road games and have him start his first game at home vs KY. making his first start on the road at auburn was a terrible decision.

literally everyone on this board was saying Harris should start against Auburn. Now all you idiots are saying it was a horrible decision.

quote:No, we are all saying Miles should have let Harris pass the ball. Les doesn't do any of the obvious stuff most coaches do to prepare young qbs. Miles simply is incapable of managing time and incapable of developing qbs. Don't give me Mett. We can't have a super talented sr qb every year nor 2 nfl all star caliber wrs every year.
Now all you idiots are saying it was a horrible decision.

First off, it was the right decision to start Harris at that point. Jennings looked finished. But the gameplan was terrible that week, which is what Miles is talking about with the ill-prepared statement. Harris should not have been under center but for maybe 10% of the plays called. Instead of changing the play calling/formations, they just simplified it. Against A&M, they tweaked it to play against their opponents weaknesses, which is what they should have done against Auburn. If they wanted to commit to Harris, they should have gone more West Coast slowly converting back to Pro-Style as Harris got in more of a groove. Again starting Harris was the right call, but the play calling assured that a green QB without a full grasp of the playbook (Harris' fault) wasn't going to have a good day. And no I don't think Miles did it on purpose so he could go back to Jennings.

Maybe just maybe because he's the qb/oc and the offense was a shite show??? That maybe to rational for some of the posters on here but that's what I'm going with.
