I don't even consider vehicles an investment. Even resale value is overrated. Just give me something reliable and safe.

for sure. but in today's age, everyone wants a new car every 2 years. if you have that mindset, buying brand new is retarded.

Hyundai Sante Fe has 12 airbags or something. That's a good one.

Used Lexus GX460.

The next vehicle I plan on buying will be the vehicle I aim to use when starting my family. Safety and reliability and hopefully a decade of use. I won't let resale value scare me off from buying new in that situation.

Jeep Wrangler (2 door) Sahara. You get a convertible that's fun as hell to drive, won't get stuck in the grass, a little bit of luxury, you can still park in tigh parking spaces, your arse isn't riding 12" off the pavement and you can still pull a trailer for runs to Home Depot.

I recently sold a 2011 Camry. Great car but I wasn't really feeling it now that I have a two hour commute. I got 2015 Subaru Crosstrek and love it. Not the best pickup but overall built very solid. And AWD.

I haven't driven the new 3 series, but if it's anything like the F10, I'd stay away. The F10 is the worst handling bimmer I've ever had. I would trade it back for my E39 M5 tomorrow if I could.

Bought the wife a 2015 Fusion last week for her 150 mile daily drive. Been Avg Around 31 mpg. MSRP was around 27k but paid 22k and 0% financing.

I may send this the Outdoor board's way but what vehicle would you get for $30k that can also fit 7' fishing rods that don't break down?

Borrow another $5K and get a Tesla Model 3 next year - LINK
Electric car. 200 mile range. A much better than a BMW 3-series. $35K. Federal tax credit.
