re: Looks like you can use Uber in Jefferson and St. Tammany Parishes

They email and text constantly. I drive only a few hours a week to cover my note. I don't think it should be long before it happens. That means driving to the airport and back you could make around $70.

I drive and just got the email. As of right now you cannot pick up in those parishes.
re: I would like to spend 30k on a new car

I recently sold a 2011 Camry. Great car but I wasn't really feeling it now that I have a two hour commute. I got 2015 Subaru Crosstrek and love it. Not the best pickup but overall built very solid. And AWD.

I don't "cycle" but I ride my bike a lot. It's fun so I don't really feel like I'm excercising. Luckily nola has plenty of bike lanes now that people actually respect. The wife got into to so now it's something we do together.
Seeing as how we are flat I would recommend a single speed bike. The frames can be cheaper and they are easy to work on.

Went to Visions for my bachelor party. It was great. Way more fun and laid back that bourbon street clubs.
re: New Orleans from Oct 11-12, is there someting big happening that weekend?

Chateau dupre is a shite hole. I was drunk and asked a cop where it was and he had never heard of it. Check out the boutique hotels on frenchmen. The royal street in in top of the r bar has some nice rooms. We got a room on 4th of July weekend with no problem.

This. Never had a more consistent barber. I think Coy is there early in the week.

Kyrptonite evolution mini 5. Small enough to fit in your back pocket. Had mine over a year and locked it in super sketchy places in Nola. Never a problem.

Im a chef and working 12-14 hour days are common. At my old job I was working 65-75 a week. That flat out sucked. My current job I'm only working 50-55 and I feel like I'm on vacation.
re: What is the biggest stress or burden you are carrying in your life?
Posted by Lotney Fratelli on 8/7/14 at 2:06 pm
I'm a chef which means I work 12-14 hours a day. I just got married and have seen my wife for 5 hours since the wedding. Luckily she's in the industry and understands. I work for a dick who lives out of state and micromanages through emails. Nothing is ever right, customers are assholes looking for free meals, the front of the house is like the wild Wild West, and on top of all that you don't get paid shite but are expected to perform 110% all day everyday. I do enjoy my career though. Working 60 hours a week right now would seem like a vacation.
re: What is your most memorable co-worker quitting story?
Posted by Lotney Fratelli on 8/7/14 at 1:43 pm
I was working at Center Plate right before the Super Bowl. I had put in my two weeks but they asked me to stay and help for the events. After working a week of 17 hour days with the most coked out chef around I called in the day of the Super Bowl. I said it's been really fun but I won't ever be coming back. Rolled over and went to bed for two days. It felt great.

As someone who works in a kitchen this has always been a dream of mine. Good for him.

It's getting too hot for the gutter punks. They go up north during the winter this time of year.

SE draft. Single speed. I put mine through hell. Cheap enough you can put money into a good saddle and tires.

re: saw a dead body

Watched my coworker bleed to death after being shot in front of our restaurant. Worst thing I've ever seen. I held his mother as she watched her son die.
re: Have you ever temporarily lost one of your senses?

Yes. I once bought cheap pine nuts from Rouses. Bad pine nuts release an oil that strips your taste buds. It lasted about a week and I thought I had cancer until someone asked if I had eaten pine nuts lately. Went away but being a chef and not tasting anything sucked.
