I swear the word disenfranchise has no meaning.

Please explain how these people have been disenfranchised.

These poor disenfranchised high school students... it's a damn shame.

Interesting thought. I wonder when all of the business men that have been disenfranchised by minority preference laws and all of the would be students disenfranchised by affirmative action will start tearing down their own neighborhoods, assaulting random people and generally acting like wild animals.

The tactics that the rioters used last night are going to be tough to combat. I watched most of it last night and I never really saw masses of people like Ferguson. I saw small groups spread out all over. They were highly mobile and they know the territory because they have grown up running around those neighborhoods. When the cops would advance, they would just disappear and pop up somewhere else. The cops and NG are going to need huge numbers. They are going to have to cover the city like a blanket.

These disenfranchised people are just redistributing privilege...

Lack of employment (opportunities), bad schools, poor police presence in their violent/drug laden communities, police profiling and brutality, public health problems everywhere, health disparities, crappy health care, and basically anything else that plagues a large urban community..which seems to be everything.
Im also referring to these uprisings in general.

How have these young people been disenfranchised? Please be specific

Please give me an example of people lashing out and especially people tearing down their own community. The jews had it 100000x worse than anyone and I don't remember anyone acting like this. In fact I didn't see a single ex-slave out there looting yesterday.

Somebody last night said condition for Baltimore HS students was no different than being a HS student in Nigeria
Really?
Really?

StrongSafety, what about the problems In the home? Why didn't you list that first? Doesn't many of these problems stem from that?

So what makes this case any different? Are we just going to ignore everything we've seen before ?
At some this narrative has got to change. Most of the "disenfranchised" bring it on themselves. The fact is that the black community always needs a white boogeyman to blame their problems on.
Look at Jackson, MS. The town is mostly black and its run by blacks but they still say all the problems stem from white folks because they moved out and took their money with them.

They talked about this last night at one of the press conferences. They ( police) were having a problem with holding ground. If they moved from one intersection to another to stop looting, the corner they left would become the new hot spot.
If they would have pursued every group of rock chunkers last night I believe the chaos would have been more wide spread.

If you want to be enfranchised, get some money together and buy a franchise. I think it's about $2mm to get a McDonalds going

Of course there are problems at home but those problems I listed also effect the family unit as well.

Employment opportunities are so abundant we are increasing immigration to satisfy our expanding job market.

When dad left the family became disenfranchised.
