See this is what's surprising to me. I've had to block people on facebook and stop talking to others that I grew up with from 1st grade thru high school. Black, white, and asian, we all played together, hung out, spent the night over at each other's house, etc... But for some reason a small handful of that group of friends has become so outspoken about what you mentioned it's become unreal.

Looking back it really baffles me thinking they could say things like that. It's like they are a completely different person. We all went to private schools from day one. I wasn't around them all the time, but I knew enough about them to be shocked after hearing some of the things they have said about these "tragedies" these past couple years.

Throw things at the police and only get shot by bean bags? Seems like a good outcome for him.

Lack of employment
Whose fault is that?

bad schools
Chicken or egg? Do bad, uninterested, troublemaking students with poor parental guidance cause bad schools, or do bad schools cause that type of students?

poor police presence in their violent/drug laden communities
So you want more police presence and more drug arrests in black neighborhoods?
quote:

police profiling and brutality
Sometimes true, I'll grant. But like the bad schools, the higher arrest rates and profiling are partly a consequence of the higher crime rate, rather than a cause of it.

public health problems everywhere
Not sure what you're referring to here. STDs? In that case, again, we know where the blame lies.

health disparities
There are some. But there are also disparities affecting other groups as well. I'm not sure what the solution is.

crappy health care
I don't believe that.

basically anything else that plagues a large urban community
Like high teen pregnancy rates? High rates of single-parenthood?

Let strong safety keep his anonymity, no need to post any irl info on posters to try to win an argument.

So basically, disenfranchise equates to the full implementation of democrat policies? Makes sense to me.

Can you really disenfranchise people for hundreds of years and just expect them to roll over and take it?

It's 2015 in a major American city. They are in no way disenfranchised over any other person who choose not to resort to violence or theft.

If those people lack opportunity, they do so opportunity because they are uneducated, culturally bankrupt, and likely have a criminal record. It sucks to be hopeless and pathetic, but no one told them that they couldn't carve a life out for themselves.

The mentality that they are owed something by society is insulting to those of us who built a life out of nothing and had to move around to find gainful employment and a decent education. If I could escape the Mississippi Delta and New Orleans, those jerk offs could escape west Baltimore.

The protests may have started over the perception of police brutality, but it's now about opportunistic criminals looking for things to loot and steal.

Now America gets to watch black men loot, rob, and burn a city down on live television. This is reinforcing stereotypes and setting back what little painfully earned progress we've made in race relations, urban renewal, and inner city investment.

While yes it is members of their race doing the rioting, you cannot hold the whole entire race accountable. It would be the same as them being mad at you because slave owners were predominately white. Yes, I know that is what some people believe today. But, for any change to occur it has to start somewhere.

Do Batman and Superman work for the Justice Dept?

If it's not them, what super powers do the two people the Justice Dept are sending to stop the riots have?
