the mountain must be trying to cleanse itself of all of the feces and bodies

Everest appears to be covered in trash.

Well, the route is ever shifting. At best, I think the climbers just have a rough idea of how to go.

That's pretty intense.
I love how at the beginning he says "The ground is shaking.." and he and his buddy laugh at that. That should be just about clue #1 that some serious shite is going down (or about to). If I am up there and the ground starts shaking, I think I'd immediately go into "What the frick" mode and prepare for the worst.

The earthquake shouldn't change the mountain as much as it should change the ice on the mountain. I'd think the upper routes are still pretty much intact.

If they had the ability to climb out of their tent i dont think the avalanche was as intense as everyone is claiming.

OK, if you say so.

I accidentally pulled it up on work computer with volume full blast when I opened youtube this morning (approx 10 minutes after arriving at work.
Computers around me were not amused.

I asked this in the original thread with no responses! I wonder if it dislodged the famous bodies, green boots, etc?
Posted on 4/27/15 at 12:04 pm to AnonymousTiger
Damn that's scary. People were killed from the boulders that were mixed up in the wall of snow.

Green boots is in a small cave. In the past Everest hasn't cleansed itself of bodies like in K2. On K2 they eventually make their way down the glacier and body parts are discovered low on the mountain.
There could be some interesting discoveries coming up on Everest in the next several years if some famous previously hidden bodies are discovered.

But Hester says it wasn't that intense. I mean there were only boulders flying around.

I can't watch (at work), but I assume this avalanche was triggered by the earthquake?
Talk about a bad time to be on that mountain.

Yes. Triggered by the earthquake.

Read in an article yesterday that climbers that have already started the climb are stranded in some partsbecause the path the the Sherpas spent making the last few months have been taking out Avalanche.
