Happened once when I was getting tested for STDs. Got kind of nervous they were waiting for lunch to tell me some really bad news. Finally came out of the room about noon (arrived at 11:00) and they said they thought I left and they had to ship that to a lab anyway.
Clean as a whistle though!

I'd rather go to the dentist than go to the doctors office, I would have given them 40 minutes before I approached someone.

What are you getting into where you felt taking an STD test was necessary?

I think it's an alter. Probably one of yours.
Anyway you slice it, his implication that cocksucking results in strep throat was frickin dumb.

When I was younger, I had a broken cast on my ankle. I went to the DR to have a new one put on. He told me to meet him at the hospital since he didn't have the equipment to remove said cast and put on another one. My mom and I went to the hospital and sat there for a few hours. They finally reached the Dr at home. He had completely forgotten about us.

You thought they would take your blood, peehole swab, and urine and come right back with full results?

2+ hours for a damn strep test.

Man that sucks. It really should never happen but there are times that things get misplaced and people get distracted.
As a physician I have had that nightmare where I left a patient in a room and ended up going home from the office not knowing.
It is the reason there is such redundancy in the medical field. All trying to prevent errors.
Sorry it happened. Hopefully the doc was sincere and it is a solitary event for the both of you.

My mom had an appointment at her primary care doc, late one afternoon. After sitting in the little room for about 3 hours (like a dumbass), she finally walked out. Only the cleaning lady was there and had to let her out of the building.

After 15 min always walk out naked, they'll pull your chart and come back in the exam room real quick

My doctor back in Louisiana was pretty awesome, but during flu or allergy season a two hour wait followed by another hour in the exam room before anyone actually sees you is not out of the realm of possibility.

Yep it all depends on your scheduling, front desk, and paient timely responsibility.
Sadly, if you are willing to see all sick patients on the same day they call, sacrifice going home to your family at a routine time, accept you will be paying some overtime for staff, and are ok with often working through lunch, you will absolutely have patients complain about having to wait to be seen.

I took one of my kids to the pediatrician one time and it happened. After about 30 minutes, I opened the door about halfway and someone walking by noticed without me saying anything. Nurse acknowledged that they had forgotten we were in there.

If you really think you might have Strep then you stick around as long as it takes. Not like you can just leave and take a couple of Advil and you're all better.
That is a long time to wait though.

I'd stretch out on the examining table and take a nap. My snoring would get peoples' attention.

Not two hours without seeing someone.
