I can't think of one any better.
There is no one better at dedication to mastering an individual role. But in terms of total body of work I would rank higher, in roughly the following order:
Jack Nicholson
Robert De Niro
Tom Hanks
Marlon Brando
Al Pacino
Anthony Hopkins
Jimmy Stewart
Leonardo DiCaprio
Clint Eastwood

Robin Williams was a force. I never said he was better
Need to add The Fisher King, Awakenings and his two fantastic performances on Homicide and Louie to his amazing filmography. Not to mention his animated work in Aladdin among others.

Sean Penn is up there as well, IMO.
Sean Penn: the FIGJAM of actors. There is no comparison except in Penns mind.
I want to see DDL do a comedic role. I mean, straight up make you laugh funny. If he could pull that off with the same believably that hes had in every other role hes done, then the debate is truly over. Comedy, to me, is a much more difficult genre than drama.
Not taking anything away from DDL. He's incredible.

I know a lot of folks on here will probably disagree but I think Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler was better, even though he didn't win the Oscar that year. At times I felt like I was watching a documentary about a real person named Randy the Ram instead of Mickey Rourke playing a character.
I actually do not disagree. That was one of the best performances I have ever seen. Mickey Rourke probably should have won the Oscar that year.

Some hipsters/snobs love to be different and hate on the guy who is clearly at the absolute peak of the craft. But there is no male actor better than DDL now or ever. I can pretty much dismiss the opinion of anyone who says otherwise.

It must be great to go through life with unswerving faith in your own judgment, not needing to consider any contrary opinions, confident that nothing could ever possibly change the way you think.
I wish I could live like that

John Wayne played John Wayne better than anyone ever played John Wayne.

Leo by a mile. That he hasn't won an Oscar by now is shameful.

I prefer Gene Hackman. DDL can wear me out with his intensity sometimes. No doubt his is good, though.
