Why dont you dumbasses understand that Jennings was an inexperienced QB last year as a Soph and is going to improve with repetition? Why shouldnt he? Yall exoect Harriss to improve so why shouldnt AJ? It seems that many of you are expecting and actually pulling for poor performances from Antthony Jennings. I guess some of you are wanting Jennings to stay the same for two years? Why so much hate toward him?

No one is hating him.. but he is what he is. He is not the same talent as Harris. Jennings still had a full year in the system prior to last season. Harris did not.

There are huge strides to be made from simply one season to the next. Jennings never once showed much promise, where even Harris as a true Freshman showed flashes of elite talent.

This is why you see guys who are RS freshman have such immediate success recently in college football. They have talent, but they also were in the system a FULL season prior..

Again, no one is hating Jennings and we would be very happy to have him as a solid #2.

We get he was inexperienced. It was just the alarming lack of "getting better" that put a lot of people off.

In fact, he went the opposite way. He looked "decent" against Wisconsin and just got worse as the year moved along.

Personally I don't care who the QB is, may the best man win. I just want Harris to have the same opportunity as Jennings to play. I don't feel Harris was given an equal opportunity by a long shot as Jennings had last season.

Stripes, I hope you're right. I want to win, don't care who is under center. Nothing will make me happier than to see AJ come out strong, put in work, and become a better player. Earn the job, whichever one of you it ends up being.

The only thing that gives me pause is history. We've been through this before, and Jefferson did not improve with reps. I fully understand that might be a poor comparison.

He had virtually zero improvement from game one to the Music City Bowl. Jennings best game is still the one qtr he played when Zach got hurt.

WHEN will we see this improvement on the field?

most of Jennings' shortcomings don't just get better due to reps.....but you can keep on waiting on the that train to come.

He didn't improve at all last year. It can be argued that he got worse.

Recognizing that he made little or no improvement isn't bashing him, it's living in the real world as opposed to la-la land.

I agree with you.

The only way we can be sure that AJ has the opportunity he deserves is to let him take every snap at center until he graduates.

Only then will we be in a position to reach a valid conclusion.

After that game at Auburn it was my opinion that Jennings should have started that game and after he wiuld have struggled then put Harris in. Harris came in the State game after Jennings was having about the samr results as Harris was having at Auburn. Mentally i think was better for Harris to come in in relief with less pressure.
So the coaches didnt get it there

And? I doubt he'll be as bad as last year. Trouble is, he could improve A LOT, and still be bad.

Actually, I find it highly concerning that as little talent as AJ obviously has, BH can't pull ahead. He's only 1 year behind AJ and AJ is f'n godawful. BH, if he was anywhere near as good as advertised, should have made it obvious at this point.

This is just a stupid stupid argument.

Don't confuse opinions regarding an individual's playing ability with opinions on the individual. It makes you look like someone whose idea of competition is seeing who can find the most 4 leaf clovers.

Don't you blind Les Miles supporters get it? My problem was with the way our stubborn coaching staff tried to use Jennings. HE IS NOT A POCKET PASSER yet Miles continued to put him under center with 2 TE's. Until A&M, he never really gave him a chance to succeed. Same with Harris, he's not a drop back passer and quite frankly, due to pure athletic ability, is more dangerous than Jennings in spread formation or at least a shotgun formation.

From reports from the coaching staff, Jennings seems to be a hard worker and unlike some people, I actually like the kid, but that doesn't mean he is the better QB. Josh Booty was apparently a practice all-american, but Rohan Davey was the better in-game QB.

He should. Many worry that he won't because he didn't improve any from his freshman year to his sophomore year, and other QBs who have played here did not improve from year to year.

More of a hope than an expectation, but yes, everyone wants Harris (and every player on our team) to improve.

Expecting, yes. Pulling for, no. Everyone is pulling for him to do well. His lack of improvement to this point suggests he might not.

quote:

I guess some of you are wanting Jennings to stay the same for two years

No one wants Jennings to stay the same for another two years the way he has for the last two years. Everyone keeps hoping, in spite of the evidence to this point, that he has some potential he hasn't shown yet and that he'll actually make progress toward meeting it.

Why so much hate toward him?

Nobody hates him. Many think he should not be the starting QB. However, only one person's opinion on that matters, and that person apparently disagrees.

Ark St, Boston College, Cincinnati, Colorado, E Carolina, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Miss St, Nebraska, N Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, SMU, S Florida, Syracuse, Vir Tech, West Virginia and of course LSU.

These were the schools that offered Jennings. You get what you pay for.

I think the issue here for most people is that he didn't progress in 2014 at all. From bowl game to bowl game we saw little to no improvement. Or anything to give LSU fans optimism.

And make no mistake, it's not just us. Everyone has taken notice to how bad the QB position has been.

Former LSU players speak on bad QB play. Nola.com

there's plenty more too, but I need to get to work.

i hate posting this bc i really like the guy. from all accts he seems to want to lead this team, he lives to workout and watch film.

that said, usually in a young inexperienced player you see flashes of brilliance and unfortunately he only shows flashes of competence. so far based on what he has shown his ceiling just doesn't seem all that high. i'm rooting like hell for him to prove me wrong though.
