He would be the Trevor Faulk of basketball.

Trev's full name was not Trevor.

well, per the other thread, sounds like it's a done deal and he's gone.

If so, I'm just curious what caused this burning desire to leave so badly; he's clearly not going high in the draft (if at all), and he has 2 years of eligibility left.

Like has been noted before, Europe would be an option in 1 or 2 years, just like it is now. If the NBA is not really an option now, why is it so awfully bad to remain at LSU?

Got that also. Not the best decision but money is a hard thing to deny.

No guaranteed money for a second-rounder. God bles him.

That shot blocking talent that Mickey has is pretty special. If he can hookup with a team in another country making 75 to 100k tax free while working on the rest of his game, then that's probably what he should do. Maybe in 2 or 3 years he might be NBA ready. If not, he could still make decent money overseas.

Third round money in the NBA is about the same as a bank manager trainee.

hard as it may be for some people to believe, for many people it's not all JUST about money. Many people believe there is more to life.

really believe Mickey should go. He needs to put all his time in basketball. He has lots to work on but who doesn't. Nothing wrong with D-leauge or Euro for a few years to develop. He can be another Josh Thomas ( from Duke ) work way up and get in league.

here's a guy that gets it. As much as we, as LSU basketball fans, would love for him to stay. Next years team is in bad need of a proven big man down low if for nothing else but defense and rebounding. Maybe he will chose to make LSU fans happy, but I would think he will most likely do what makes himself happy. HOw Selfish Of hIM!

I definitely think he will have a long long career overseas. You are saying he will be an NBA player and I am saying he will not. Nothing about whether he will enjoy his time overseas.

i'll eat some.
Didnt' think he'd get drafted, and was pretty adamant about it.

He's looked good in the summer league, but so has austin rivers.
Great for him getting the contract and i wish him the best and will be following him.

All he's done is produce on the court. He had a bad final 8 games or so of his LSU career, but outside of that, he was easily the better player of he and Martin.

He's not a superstar. But he's a guy that can step in an give you some production in various ways (scoring, rebounding, blocks) off the bench

do you frickers know what eating crow means??

And, comparing him to Austin Rivers means you should reserve your opinions to other ranters for all things basketball.

Geez, get your panties out the was.

All I was saying is that doing well in the summer league doesn't carry much weight, much like how Austin rivers looked like the best player two years in a row but hasn't been worth a shite in the nba.

Such a negative Nancy you are.

This thread should really be titled:

"Jordan Mickey considering leaving school two years early to go undrafted, play a few years in ukraine, maybe get a cup of coffee with a d league team at some point, and then looks to coach an aau team after his "retirement" in 4 years"

He's a good college player but its downright laughable that this dude thinks he's making an nba roster next year.
