We know where Saul ends up, no mention of any of the people he associates with now were mentioned on breaking bad, aside from mike.
Wonder how those bridges are burned and this episode chuck grew on me more, every time he walks outside I think he's going to be hit by a car. Hope he lives and has a good send off.

This is my third episode and it took me a while to figure out that that lawyer is his brother. He must have had a nervous breakdown.
Also trying to figure out how Jonathan Banks' character fits in.
Pretty damn good show.

Bro. Start from the beginning. I've never understood people who can just pick up while missing essential parts of the show.

This already the best show on television.

So is that scene and the mailroom a flashback?
The flashback scenes have a little different look to them. A little darker, and for lack of a better word, grainy.

Great setup for next week! Every week I feel worse for Jimmy and wish he'd just get his big break... and here we are... but you know something has to happen to the case to bring him back down once again

From the "previews of next week" I'd say Chuck's old firm gets wind of the case and says Chuck is still a partner at the firm. I'm willing to bet that would mean Jimmy is off the case.

quote:I agree. This show is a great stand alone show and I'm so glad it doesn't use BB as a crutch. The subtle nods to BB are cool and all, but I find myself not even thinking about BB while watching. It is still way early but I can see BCS being liked more than BB if they keep up like they have been.
This Season is as good as Season 1 of BB in my opinion.

. I thought the guy who played the lawyer for the nursing home turned in a very good performance in a smallish role.
He really did stand out. Damned good acting. Smooth as hell.
So Mike's daughter-in-law is a little implied-blackmailer shakedown artist? That's how I read her line about the money, "Of course, it's just a drop in the bucket." Then we see Mike looking for "work." Little bitch.

We know where Saul ends up
I find this to be a drawback from having seen Breaking Bad. We do know where Jimmy ends up, so you know good and well he is not going to get a big chunk of the 20 million. It's a bit of an interesting consideration while watching a prequel, I guess.

Are the short opening credits foreshadowing? Every time it is a different scene.
Hard to say. I've been wondering about them also. I'm guessing they are bits of video that Saul has captured that we're seeing, but no idea on the why/how.
Maybe erroneous footage from some early S'ALL GOOD MAN commercial prototypes? Or perhaps video evidence in a case of his, or against him?

I thought it was money Mike had given her and she was afraid to spend it.
She asked him if it was safe to spend it because she and Kayle needed it.
I may be mistaken.

Havne't read any of this thread, skipped straight to the last post. Yes I realize I'm playing with fire here and am posting at my own risk.
With that said...how does this episode stack up to the rest? Another home run, little bit of a lull, 10/10? I can't watch until after work tonight but would be interseted to see if this one lived up to previous episodes.

I'm guessing there is going to be some kind of a loophole and the Jerk partner is going to step in and offer a deal with Sandpiper just to piss Jimmy off.

quote:You are correct. It was the way she did it though that showed she was wanting more money. She all of the sudden lets Mike hang out with his granddaughter and then when she gets home asks him if it is ok to spend. As soon as he says yes, she immediately switches to "it's just a drop in the bucket" mode implying she needs more. She knows that Mike can get her more and she also knows she has the power to keep Mike away from his granddaughter.
