I'm mid way through my patio, boat shed project. Formed it up myself. Hired Mexicans to pour it. I plan on building the rest myself. The post started going up yesterday.

My daughter wanted a vanity. We looked around at flea stores and saw a couple that were too small / too expensive. Later that day, our new neighbor (very sweet older lady) asked me to haul a piece of furniture she bought at Habitat for Humanity. While there, I spotted this old, kid's desk that was in pretty bad shape for $10. We tore off damaged wood, added risers, new sides, new drawer pulls, sanded and painted. New neighbor (very sweet older lady) offered an old mirror she had in her attic for the perfect final touch! Didn't build from scratch but enjoyed repurposing an old piece.

I'm not in the habit of taking pictures of most of my projects but I did turn an old boat/jetski trailer into a more useful utility trailer. Still have hardware and wiring to finish up tomorrow but not bad for a few hours effort.

This one is 7'-10" x 2'-4" deep. Counter height will be about 3'-2" I wanted it a little higher than standard kitchen cabinet height. I'm going to wrap it in fence boards for that rustic look. Its also going to have a back splash. I'm going to make a false wall in the back, put a sheet of cement board on it for some fire proofing and then may try to tile it, I've never done tile though. Also going to do a cement top and I've never done that either.

Got to do a little more work to my outdoor cookstation. Here it is with the floor and back wall installed. Nothing special, I cut fence boards to legnth and nailed them in place.

Side panels will get looked at the most so I wanted to do something extra. I cut the fence boards down and made a nickle gap joint. Then trimmed it with some 2x2s.

I need to frame in a wall in between the 2 uprights. Thinking I may subway tile it Im also going to attempt to pour a concrete countertop with a hole to hold my Weber Kettle. Having second thoughts on that though.

Add some wheels to the bottom of the legs. That way you can roll it out to clean under it or if cooking and the wind is coming from the wrong direction, you can move it. Harbor Freight sells caster wheels on the cheap.

I started building and selling green egg tables. I'll update once I get done with my current build. This is such a great thread btw.

Looks really good. Don't be afraid of a concrete countertop. Lay it out with cardboard then flip the cardboard and build your frame around that.

Use a melamine base panel and frame with melamine piece. Use caulk on the base of the melamine pieces to for the edge.
I put a lot of wire and rebar in mine. I fastened it to the top of the melamine form.

Use a sawsall to vibrate the bubbles to the top. After using the sawsall cut the wire support and push under the concrete.

Thanks for the tips, that's pretty much what every video on youtube I watched did. I'm going to try it out. Did you use bag mix or make.your own recipe? If bag mix, what do you use?

Fish, I think I will add some casters. It's already at 36" though, may be just a tad to high once I add casters. May cut the legs down with my Sawzall.

I used bagged. It was the high strength concrete though.

They have counter top mix now.
