Yes, you can really spread it to your eyes, and you'll have the same symptoms as pink eye. You don't want that.

I have a neti pot but I am not using it for this purpose because my sinuses are already agitated from a horrible cold I just got over

Neti pots are okay, Alkolol is 100 time better. I used to get chronic sinus infections and haven't had one since I started using it.

Neti pot with a saline soluation is better than antibotics.

ETA:

I use afrin to open up my nasal passages, then use the neti pot. 1-2 times, and my infections are gone. It is amazing how well they work.

I have rough sinuses

Things the work best for me are nedi-rinses and the ocean saline solution nasal spray

Apple Cider Vinegar Tea

Hot Water
1tblsp ACV
Honey
Lemon

shite has worked for me, my family, and everyone I've suggested it to.

It thins out mucus.

I'd do 2cups of this a day, along with a neti pot and steam with towel over head.

Google pet antibiotics for sinus infections. If it's truly a bacterial infection, it will be nearly impossible to go away without some type of antibiotic. Garlic is a great antibiotic if eaten raw. Must crush it or chew it. But garlic will make your breath and farts unbearable. Echinacea is pretty good.

OTC stuff will make you feel better, but the infection will hang around for a long while.

If you're feeling so bad that you can't concentrate at work, then go take some time off and see a doctor. Work just isn't worth it, plus you don't want to have that nastiness there when you can contain it at home.

That's what sick time is for.

What pisses me off is I know it's a sinus infection and I know what will be prescribed, but it still requires me to make the appointment, go there, get the piece of paper, bring that to a pharmacy and wait for it to be filled. First world problems for sure
