there is a court case with this argument. teh supreme court allows cops to discriminate against people of higher intelligence
so just about everyone?

But people on here love themselves some cops.
Cops do a dangerous job, are there to protect you....

Where are the cop lovers agreeing with you?
On the other side of that thin blue line?

It's shite like this that makes me grateful to live in the parish that has the best Sheriff's Office in the State of Louisiana. To Jeff Wiley.....
Ya damn right! I never realized how great Jeff Wiley really was until i moved to Baton Rouge. Himself and his officers perform their jobs the way they are supposed to. The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office should be the gold standard that all other police units strive to live up to.

I once got maced down by a Sorrento cop. Was only guilty of something by association. He held me down and shot the mace in my mouth. So I was spitting and drooling in his back seat which pissed him off. He ran out of mace and had to actually get some from his partner to use on me again. Dude was one of the biggest pricks I ever encountered. Kept calling me "city boy" and saying how he would make sure I never drove through his parish again.

To be fair. I know a few ems guys. They will call the police over anything.

Do you blame them? You ever been EMS? Spend your working nights stepping into unknown drunk crowds but can't keep your alertness up because you have to focus on a patient? You gonna turn your back on an intense situation within which you have no idea what the intentions of people there are?

how could brpd afford to have that many uniformed cops off seatbelt and dwi checkpoints?
really, cops once again are wrong and acted overzelous in manhandling the citizens that pay their salary. probably figure that since someone is drunk and 90% of the time they cn convince anyone they are in the right if their paperwork matches. too bad we live in the age where everyone has video surveillance.

12 units were on scene
10 people arrested, not 20

I am fine with that law if they are trying to do their job and the person in their way is interfering. I am not ok with slamming an innocent dude to the ground and then lying about him assaulting a cop. A charge like that when you are 22 will literally ruin your life.
I agree, but there's already a charge for that...obstruction of justice or interfering with a police investigation. Remaining after being forbidden is about as anti-American of a law as I can think of.

In this situation, the battery on a LEO felony charge is way more of an issue than the remaining after forbidden charge.

So, was the police officer charged with any crimes after video evidence clearly shows that he lied about being attacked by the kid on his police report? Not on that but he assaulted the kid and the girl he had his arm around.
Also, what will become of the cop who swiped the phone from him? Nothing, right?
This police state shite has become pathetic.

Yea, they'll charge him with something. Sure, when pigs fly.
The guy will get put on paid leave and his actions will be excused by saying, "his recollection was skewed by the intensity of the moment."
He should be thrown in prison.
Personally, Scruffy considers lying as a public official or corruption to be just below treason.

You know when I was 22, drunk, and near anything that required a Police response I avoided cops. I would take the long way around so no contact was made between them and me.
No doubt it is not against the law to film cops. But if one asks you to get the hell out of the way while you are recording a escalating situation from inside the escalating situation while being shite face hammered you probably should carry your arse.

Chris Nakamoto needs to get involved with this and put some pressure on the BRPD.

No I think if you play stupid games you win stupid prizes. The video is probably edited and doesnt show everything from start to finish. He was more then likely told to leave and he didn't.
Did the cops involved have to go about it exactly how they did. Not my job to say. There were more people at the bar then there were police officers. People nationwide aren't happy with cops. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do I guess.
