It was in our home state, only 60 miles from our campus, for the national title, and against our most hated rival. We should've had more fans there, despite Bama's reputation of traveling well.

You don't know how bowl tickets work, do ya? I can promise you thousands of Bama fans had tickets for the BCS Title game bought in August. You also fail to mention how close to Alabama the game is as well. They have many sidewalk fans in Louisiana that were able to use their own corporate connections to get tickets. Don't act like LSU fans bought tickets from LSU, then turned around and sold seats right next to the Golden Girls to Bama fans.

I bought my tickets from LSU, so they were part of the allotment given to the school. There were at least a dozen, if not more, Bama fans in our section.

How'd they get those tickets if not from LSU fans?

I was at the game in the Superdome as I was for the previous two championship games. I always pay attention to the crowd split based upon colors in the sections. I estimate at least a 55/45 split in favor of LSU. It just did not seem that way as the game progressed.

I don't think Bama had more people. It just wasn't the overwhelming majority that we are used to in the Superdome, so it felt like they had more. It felt like about a 50/50 split.

It was a 50/50 split when we played OU and OSU as well.

It was definitely more bama fans. Not by a ton but it was. The lsu side was had bama fans throughout it but the bama side was almost 100% bama fans.

I bought tickets from an LSU student, and there were Bama fans in the student section.

First off, I never sold my ticket to any game when I was in school. Secondly, the students that sold their tickets to Bama fans should lose their ticket privileges. I know it'll never happen, but that's just unacceptable.

Ever since that game, something about our football program has been "off." Our fans have traveled very poorly ever since then.

People are probably sick of paying good money to go to the "Maybe Next Year Bowl" ever since then.

The headline of this thread is misleading. Of the 55K tickets sold to the bowl game, LSU has only sold about 7K. That's nothing to brag about, considering that we used to bring upwards of 20K fans to bowl games in the past.

I live in Nashville, TN and there are a ton of LSU people buying tickets to this game "Outside" of the 8,000 or so allotted to LSU. There will be 25,000 + for LSU and the stadium, LP Field, only holds 68,798 The upper deck won't be filled up, but the lower level and Club level will be rocking with LSU & Notre Dame fans. I expect a 55/45 split favoring LSU, but we'll see.

And as long as Leslie is in charge, LSU will never see the CFP!

I bought 3 tickets off Ticketmaster that aren't included in the 7,000, so make that 7,003.

LSU doesn't travel well anymore. I think it has a lot to do with how stagnant our offenses have been, lofty expectations on the season, economy and HD TV.

I just don't see this happening. If we can get more than 10K to show up, it will be considered a success.

I'm in the same situation. Flying in the night before and staying at Hotel Preston near the airport. Will be cabbing it to the game so won't have a parking spot. Are there any lots/areas that will have a large congregation of Tiger fans that does not have a $65 cover charge?? Should be cold enough outside that we won't need ice to keep our beverages cold!

They didn't have a Playoff in 2006, 2007, and 2011, so how can my post be idiotic? CFP is how things are done now, so bookmark it all you want. If Leslie will ever recruit the Matt Mauck/Matt Flynn type of QB, he will have far more success.

I'm saving my money for the Tradition Fund increase in 2015.
