Funeral of a friend who was senselessly murdered.

My girlfriends little brother was killed in a car wreck not that long ago. He was only two years younger than me and was a cool kid. It's been a rough couple of months.

For me personally- my Father's funeral
overall, when I was in the 6th grade a class mate, her 2 siblings and their parents all died in a house fire. 5 caskets in a row at the funeral

with the gun salute, which was also jarring
No doubt...had an uncle with the salute and those volleys are cutting for sure...
My saddest was my ex-wife's funeral. She was 35...had some demons she wrestled with and they won out. Our young daughter was old enough to know something was afoul but not fully understanding of the situation and my heart grieved for her knowing the rough times ahead for her.

Didn't know him well, but a really sweet guy died driving home from school. He was planning on going to seminary school, but he was pretty chill. At graduation that year, they called out his name saying he graduated posthumously and that teared me up.

Sister in laws little brother died at 14. His dad was a chief at the fire department. Those funerals are sad enough, but him being a kid put it on another level

a three day period of watching my son pass away unexpectedly in pain and then burying him. I pray every night to not have to go through something like that again.

This was the last time I spent with my best friend of many years during his battle with cancer. I never will forget that day and the conversation we had. He was given a terminal diagnosis and knew the end was near. I cried the rest of that day knowing that was the last meaningful conversation we would ever have and thinking of the family he was leaving behind. That day was the worst part of it for me because I knew the physical and mental pain he had when there was absolutely nothing anyone could do. It was a huge relief when I got the call of his passing and the funeral was a blur to me because I knew the pain he had was over. Looking back, I understand that his pain was only temporary while his loved ones' pain is forever.
RIP EJW

I'd have to say the death of my unborn nephew. He was literally days away from delivery and was found to have no heartbeat a couple of days from delivery.
When I saw my wife's brother cry over his loss, and I've only seen him angry, it immediately made me cry. I was witnessing him and his wife's life disintegrating and it was truly horrid.
The funeral, with the baby casket , was even worse.
Saddest thing I've ever seen and that's including the death of my parents.
Sometimes I wish I was a robot.

9 11 sitting in car in traffic staring at the black cloud where the WTC was or when I got home and tried explaining what happened to my son and daughter.
