Who says golf is dying?

snobbish, cliquish, racist, elitist, expensive, and 1,000s of other things vying for our attention.

Not enough people talk about it on message boards

1. No dominant player on the national circuit
2. stagnant wages (golf is an expensive sport to play)
3. cut backs on courses due to budget constraints leading to less enjoyable experiences for casual players
4. the average working american that can afford golf is working more hours than they were before the Great Recession, which means less hours for golfing.

And real golfers now rejoice. They no longer have to play 6 hour rounds of golf because some arse clowns think they can pick up a set of clubs at the local walmart, go to the local course and play like Tiger.

People don't have time to play golf.

The same reason the card game bridge is dying. Cause old white people are dying. Young minorities & people of color don't care for that crap.

I think its mainly this. In a short attention spanned society, most people won't devote 5 hrs to a game of golf.
hell if I have 5 hours to kill, the golf course ain't gonna be the place. Only time I play is when I have to for work.

From a die hard golfer:
1. It's expensive as frick compared to soccer, basketball, football, etc...
2. Courses are insanely expensive to maintain/operate which leads to exclusivity and point #1
3. It takes half a day to play a round
4. It's still seen as a nerdy sport

Probably cause it's a boring and pointless game.

Time. younger generations don't have the patience for 3-4 hours of golfing. It's also expensive.

The excitement is overwhelming for most of us.
