Dating advice: what is the less douche move

So my friend has been dating a girl for a couple of months. Not too serious but is introduced as the girlfriend. Well he meets the girl of his dreams and they hit it off. He plans on breaking it off to be with the hot new girl. But he is supposed to go visit the girlfriend and her family this weekend. He is planning on going and then breaking it off. What's the best way to end it? I say end it tonight, He says he wants to let her down easy after the weekend, finals, etc.

The rare OT question thread that doesn't really have an easy answer. Congratulations.

Stupid kids.
Use her until after finals or whatever event is looming. Meet family, frick her good then end it.

Dump her now is by far less douchey

Keep them both. If he breaks ups with girl A and new girl B ain't the girl of his dreams after a few dates then he's sittin at home alone on Friday nights drinking Mountain Dew code red, eating pizza and playing World of Warcraft. If after a few months girl B is still all that, then break up with girl A.

The douche part would be breaking up with her during finals...do it after...
Make up a reason not to visit the family and then drop it on her the day after her last final.

Is she emotionally attached? Wait until after finals so you don't frick her over.
Is this still pretty casual? Just end it now.

He definitely shouldn't meet her family if he's dumping her. That would be a real douche move. Make up an excuse why he can't go and dump her after finals.

You didn't think it was serious until the girl introduced you as the boyfriend.

You met some new great tail... and you want to pursue that instead...

But you feel a bit guilty and like you are supposed to play the boyfriend role you didn't assume you were in...

He is planning on going and then breaking it off.
your planning on going and then breaking it off, cause you don't wanna feel like an arse since you've already been invited, introduced, and expected as the new BF...

Doesn't matter... a shite storm will arise.

Break up first. Don't meet parents.

Get into an altercation with her father and let nature run its course.

Go meet the parents, have a good time, then blame not liking the parents on the upcoming breakup. Win/win. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconcheers.gif)

Why would he dump A when he's not certain about B? You be a friend and keep him straight in his lies and provide alibis when needed. The only problem is he'll have to buy them both gifts for Christmas and if you're a broke student, that might be a small problem.

Make it short and to the point, preferably in person. Either way the family will hate him for it, but they'll appreciate that he didn't have the audacity to mooch off the family for one last weekend.

Is the new hot girl out of his league? Possible she is just being nice? Don't throw away what you have for a long shot.

Introduce your girlfriend to the new girl and see if they hit it off and also introduce your girlfriend to a single guy friend of yours and see if they have any chemistry. Then, if her and the new girl hit it off, ask the gf if she would be interested in a manage a tois. She will immediately be disgusted and walk out and go to your friend. He will comfort her and she rebounds relatively painlessly. She tells the new girl about this, and she is flattered and hooks up with you. Yada yada yada, you've performed a perfect switcharoo and helped a guy friend get laid with minimum heart break.
