Well...this will serve as a warning to any real dope dealers in the area. The war on drugs is a fight we must win at any cost. Bc the children.

The REAL problem with incidents like this isn't the cops. Its the fricking rubber stamping judges out there.

Unfortunately, the only way these nighttime no-knock warrants will stop is homeowners killing some cops.

This is such a terrible story.

Did you read the other articles linked within the original link?

The "no knock" warrant was based on the testimony of a meth addict that had stolen Mr. Hooks vehicle two nights before out of the drive way. Tells the police that he "found" 20 hits of meth in the SUV. Are you kidding me?

The police knew that the Hooks had prior thefts from their property. Why can't the police go to the house at 5am and just knock on the door with the warrant? How about wait until suspect gets in his vehicle, stop him in the driveway and then search the house? This is BS.

This is like a fact pattern from a Crim Pro exam - Find all the holes.

Yeah can't tell you how many times I've had people make accusations of me selling meth from my home...oh wait that number would be ZERO.

As sad as this story is, I always find it hard to believe that the cops and meth head picked this guy out of all the folks who walked out of church and went to bed at 8pm.

Pretty much the scenario any gun owner fears. Idiot local cops try and execute a raid that is far outside of their ability, you respond like any normal person would to a swarm of unknown people at your home at night, and they see your firearm and gun you down.

How do you know?

Apparently, I was a person of interest in a string of thefts in my little town? I was actually investigated without my knowledge.

Want to know the reasoning? I frequented all the bars that were broken into and was known to leave my car there overnight.

I found out about the whole investigation about six months later because on of the cops stopped my Dad in the grocery store.

FTR: I didn't steal shite. They eventually busted the guys the second time they broke in the same bar.

What is the scheduled time for looting? I need a new TV for my bedroom. Also, I could use a table saw and a router.

The search warrant to raid Hooks’ home came about after a local meth addict named Rodney Garrett came onto the property two nights earlier and stole one of Hooks’ vehicles. Garrett claimed that before he stole the vehicle, he broke into another vehicle on the property and stole a plastic bag. Garrett claimed he thought the bag contained money, but when he later examined it and discovered it contained 20 grams of meth and a digital scale, he “became scared for his safety” and turned himself in to the sheriff’s office.

Yup, these incidents dont happen in a vacuum. It takes inane laws, and then spineless officials to endorse them first.

can we get some real national media attention on these no knock drug raids?

Maybe if the racial crap doesn't drown it out. This case has promise.

Absolutely. Why not wait for him to be leaving the property one day. Stop him. Search his car. Detain him, and execute the search warrant?

We are talking about cops here. How will they get to use their toys?
