re: Drug raid in rural Georgia ends in a homeowner dead, no drugs found...

It seems that someone should at least be charged with reckless endangerment. The wife was obviously lucky that she was not killed in this raid. What would be the LCSD stance today had she been hit and killed with one of the 16 bullets fired? She is the only witness aside from the cops. My mistrust of departments like this one lead me to believe the story would have been that she was charging the cops with a knife or something along that line. I think the report mentioned that she was made to sit, handcuffed, for two hours. How she made it out alive is a miracle.

As sad as this story is, I always find it hard to believe that the cops and meth head picked this guy out of all the folks who walked out of church and went to bed at 8pm
So, it is ok for the cops to kick in your door and murder you because you did not go to church and go to bed at 8 pm?

"To be fair about that, the public calls us for everything is seems."
A fair point and probably related to overcriminalization. We get the government we deserve, I suppose.

"Our department rarely uses them and we train very hard at our jobs."
This should be the norm. Here's to you and yours.

Prayers to his family. Would be interesting if more financial resources were allocated to police officers salaries. Could attract more educated job seekers to the profession to avoid certain situations.

Yep. People who call the police too much definitely deserve to get shot in the head.

Posted by toosleaux Here I will sum up the thread. frick cops. But let's wait for all the facts. frick pigs. You weren't there, you don't know. 11 pages.
The cops tried to be Navy Seals again and violated the sovereignty of a mans home then killed him for trying to protect his wife.
The cops did this on purpose with tactics that everyone in the LE community knows about and most approve. They approve of these tactics because they are more concerned with protecting themselves than protecting the public.

Our government is completely out of control.

Reading that made my blood boil. The sheriff was actually in the raid. The way they treated her and then her son is nothing short of terrorism. Everybody involved in that raid deserves to spend years in prison.

What kind of hillbilly bumfrick department is this if the Sheriff himself is actually taking part in the raid? It says it all about the quality of the dept and probable IQ levels.

Indeed. I really hope this case goes far. They need to be shamed, embarrassed and ridiculed on their way to prison.

The local police here do searches with no warrant. They knock, force themselves in and then make you sign papers under duress allowing the legality of the search.
I was in a house that was being turned like that and my one dumb friend signed the paper. We all said don't sign, but he fell for the "if you don't sign I will arrest your girlfriend and she will be kicked out of nursing school" so he signed and too the charges.
If you don't sign they just leave with your drugs. Most don't care as long as they find SOMETHING, but the legality of it is not there and it's very unamerican.

summed it up perfectly. It is not an opinion but a FACT that a police officers life is worth more than a civilian's. Or at least that his how police operate.

This case should be on the national news for all to see. It's amazing to think this is what our govt has become.
