Here's what St. Louis got with all the picks they got from Washington:
No. 2: St. Louis ? Washington (PD). St. Louis traded this selection to Washington for first-round selections in 2012 (6th), 2013 (22nd), and 2014 (2nd), and a 2012 second-round selection (39th).[source 1] After a number of subsequent trades over the next two drafts, St. Louis ended up turning this single pick into the following players: OT Greg Robinson, LB Alec Ogletree, WR Stedman Bailey, RBs Zac Stacy and Isaiah Pead, DT Michael Brockers, CB Janoris Jenkins and G Rokevious Watkins
be more hilarious if they end up with RGIII for nothing and he actually has success.

He has actually regressed as far as mechanics are concerned....
If Art Briles ends up in the NFL he may look at RGIII

MUCH worse
This.
Washington traded several first rounders for a guy who regressed every year and for whom they'll get very little in return.
Dan Snyder - mortgaging the future since 1999.
I am surprised by the report, though, since the media made it seem like RG3 and Snyder were extremely close.

But seriously, remember when people were saying that the Colts should draft him instead of Luck. Wow, just...wow.

So basically a bunch of players that don't have them close to making the playoffs.

doubt they'd trade him to a division foe...but RG3 to Philly? That would get his career back on track.
Chip would not take RG3 for the same reasons he cut Desean.

That is a young core of solid players on both sides of the ball. Way better off with them than RG3.

Baloo can probably reference an obscure baseball trade from the 40s in which a team gave up a future Hall of Famer for a pack of bubble gum.

this might be the case, but with all of that fire power, a team should be able to produce something stronger. You had 2 first round picks for 3 straight years. and you still arent even in playoff contention? something isnt right.

You are always better off with a franchise qb. You can't predict the serious injuries like RG3 encountered.

it's not even the greatest trade in the history of the NFL. the 3 great trades Dallas pulled off -- Walker, Walsh, and Longley -- were all better.
Remember many people thought RG3 was can't miss

Yeah, many people did think that. But, his playing style always led to talks about him being prone to injury. Running QB's don't have a great history in the NFL.

All those picks for one division title
Back to square one
New QB, still need db's and an oline worth a shite

But is it a worse decision to risk everything for a qb than to risk everything for a rb?
I'd say the Redskins wind up worse off when it's all done, but the Ricky Williams trade was a worse decision.
The line of thinking on the value of RB's hadn't changed yet, so it's unfair to penalize the Saints for "overvaluing" a RB in 1997. Remember that the Colts picked Edgerrin James before the Saints traded for Williams.
