So not one of you has heard of BMW?

This was her car, I have nothing against BMW, I had a 335 and a 08 M3 sedan. The m3 was ok, the 335 was shite, it left me stranded twice in the first 6k. I traded it in on the M3 while it was on the rack after the second time. She doesn't like BMW for some reason. We drove the benz GL and she liked the Audi better.

As for infiniti, we had the current qx (well when it was still called the 56) , one of the first to hit the ground around here. No problems with that at all, she just wanted something a bit different.

Well the first car I owned was a 4 year old I35 that was a complete lemon. My parents had to replace the engine at 6years and 55K miles. I currently drive a 2006 3-series that I've driven everywhere from Northern Europe to the Middle East (2 years there) and have spent little money on it other than routine maintenance. Both our examples are anecdotal, but I'd put BMW up against Infiniti in reliability any day.

Audi styling has come a long way from bottom of the barrel, to top of the class. Lexus's new design cues look good on some, IS and GS, but come across awkward in the suvs. Mercedes is the inverse to me. The new m class is nice as is the glk, but what theyve done to to front of the sl and slk, and the sides of the s class look goofy as all hell.

Unsure of the driving characteristics of them though, I'm happy with what I've got.

I would probably say

Lexus
Audi
Infiniti

Again it's highly dependent on model. It will be interesting to see how the Lexus NS will fair. Lexus is almost going through a rebrand now

What about Acura (MDX)?

Infiniti are nice but not as refined as the other two. Powerful, but dated drivetrain, known for harshness.

Lexus is most refined, but also a bit bland. Very reliable, quiet, boring.

Audi is best looking, least dependable. Really like their design cues, but tend to be underpowered unless you step up.

Think you pretty much nailed it

My biggest problem with lexus was the bland body style and some interiors that were I need of updating, could be a Toyota Avalon if you didn't know any better

I did hear that there was some change of the guard at lexus and they are shifting to bolder more aggressive body styles, possibly trying to appeal to a younger consumer

All these posts and no one has mentioned the Quattro feature. It's very nice to have.

Typically audi will be more stylish and fun to drive. Lexus will be more comfortable, quieter and more reliable. Infinity will be a middle ground between the two.
