He should retire. Certainly he's made enough money at this point to do well later in life. He can save his knees and the rest of his body by calling it quits. I'm starting to think he's not that far away from this.

Rose has played only 55 games since the end of the 2011 season. Damn.

he's our generation's Grant Hill or Penny
who did come back and play long after he could have quit with injuries...

They should trade him to the Suns
This. They restored the careers of Shaq and Grant Hill. Best training staff in the league.

Jesus, this dude's a porcelain doll.

First Brandon Roy and now Derrick Rose. What could've been.

The thing about derrick rose is not only is he hurt a lot, but he's a pussy to go along with it and his attitude sucks. He comes off as one of these people that in a sick way enjoys being hurt because he thinks it makes him some kind of a fallen hero. A lot of the other guys mentioned in this thread were far more passionate about their sports than

It's almost embezzlement.

Thibds was quoted post game saying it was his decision to take Derrick out.
The man has had two major knee injuries and his legs aren't completely ready for the wear and tear of an 82 game season. The overreaction to this stuff is something I will never understand.

The guy gets hurt when a stiff breeze comes by.

That was amazing.

He's mentally done.
I second that. Any resemblance of mental toughness has been depleted. It sucks, he had 2 tough injuries but something was up and it was evident through his rehab period. Either he keeps making bad business decisions or he just can't / wont fight through pain.
When I say bad business decisions I mean he loses future contract money everytime he bitches out of a game

If you were his teammate, would you call him out? Ultimately, they play for each other and he is not letting down anyone but those guys. I'd have a good man to man talk with him. He has to be able to fight through injuries.

Barkley and all those guys wouldn't give up their bad backs and knees for the memories and money they made.

So you are against generalizing based on color, but you're cool with generalizing based on birth date.
Sounds legit, I can't wait to hear more of your insight into these types of situations.

If you read Thibs quotes, it sounds like he benched Rose...
I watched that whole game and the game against the Jazz. Rose was playing not to get hurt in each game.
I think if Rose didn't tweak any thing (according to him and Thibs anyway....) Thibs was frustrated with Rose's lack of aggression and decided to bench him for the rest of the game.

Man I wouldn't compare anyone to Grant Hill. Dude almost had his foot amputated. What's a blown knee x 2 compared to that.
