...because with a healthy OLine, he probably does.

But like many, I think you are missing the bigger point. Harris has to play for NEXT year...not because we are going to magically get better this year. There is a decent chance that we go to A&M and win with Jennings with a very conservative game plan and very little production at the QB spot. But, I think it would be smarter to play Harris even if it ends up being a loss because I think we will benefit next year with him getting as many snaps as possible.

maybe, but why does he not get another shot? Jennings played as bad against Arky, yet, no chance of seeing anybody else. If Jennings has been playing lights-out football up to that point, I can see not having him relinquish the job. But, his performance this year has not been good.

All the right questions, but we will never get the answers (right or wrong).

I've only missed watching 1 LSU conference game over the last 20 years due to being in a friend's wedding, but I'm so fed up with this BS that I don't plan on even watching the aTm game Thursday. There have been plenty of chances to at least get BH in a game to take snaps since Auburn. We might be up or down by 3+ scores and he still won't get any playing time. Mark it down. To not let him even play is stubborn to the point of being downright idiotic. Here's to going 7-6 when we might have gone 10-3 or 11-2 if we had just given BH a decent shot..and Auburn wasn't a decent shot. AJ looked just as bad vs New Mexico St anyway.

Miles has not successfully recruited and developed one high school QB. That's our problem in a nutshell.

I was hopeful Harris would end that record. Maybe he will, but I'm less confident after what I saw this year.

Don't fully understand all the reasons why, but it's killing us.

Miles is all wrong on Jennings/Harris. He's now just saying crap to be stubborn. Jennings is no more ready that Harris. 120 yards against Arkansas proves it.

I agree with most of your points, but I'll see if I can play devil's advocate here

quote:

1. How was he ready 2 months ago if he isn't ready now?

he wasn't actually. But had to be tested. He failed said test. I actually do think this, btw.

2. If he isn't ready after being with the team nearly a year, isn't that the fault of the coaches?

This I agree with. I do think that it's a lot to expect for the staff to develop a good QB in his first year, but also can't fathom how we are in this situation in the first place.

3. Based on AJ play, how can you conclude he is ready?

Amen brother.

I really dont care who starts the game for LSU. I think most people understand Harris needed to come out of the Auburn game. I dont think he should be annointed as the starter without proving a little more on the field. What infuriates me, and I think most is the zero meaningful game snaps Harris has received since that game. There is simply no reason not give a couple of series to Harris in each of our last few games. I am afraid that by not playing Harris, Les has decided Jennings is his guy and will be for the future. This situation really does have the JJ/JL feel to it.

AJ nor Harris have "proved in on the field".

I think Miles has been very vendictive towards the B Harris situation. Maybe, initially AJ had the edge at the start of the season, but clearly things changed. Miles is stubborn, and when the crowd boo'd his decision to play AJ when his performance was well under par, he threw B Harris to the tigers in Auburn knowing that, without a running game in a hostile environment, the odds was significantly against him. Miles way of "take this" to those who boo'd my decisions. The season was written off with the loss to bama. There is NO excuse why Harris should not start the next 2 games. NO more BS post game press conferences.. If you were the coach, had just over 100 yards of offense through 3 quarters of play, wouldn't you have tried something or anything to try to win? Or does 4 mil/year make you complacent, win or lose.!

We have an elite coach with an extremely high winning %. Why can't you see the positives? How can you question this?

It's not coaches fault that we don't have any upperclassmen at Qb. It's not the coaches fault that we run a scheme not suited for the two scholarship QBs we do have. The coaches can't throw and catch the ball for the players. If they can't execute what can the coaches do?

Didn't you see we almost beat Alabama with Jennings at QB running this scheme? Did you forget we went toe to toe with a damn good Arkansas team last Saturday with QB and this scheme?

Its funny how true freshman Kyle Allen can be ready at A&M in a pass happy offense, meanwhile BH isn't ready in one of the most run oriented offenses in the nation. G

I know this may be hard to hear, but kyle Allen was a much better prospect than Harris. Watch the under armor game, and tell me which guy you want on your team.

You folks that think upside or talent equals production are fools.

Anyone can see why a fan would want to give the guy a shot, but there is no reason to just make wild assumptions like he should be as far along as Allen at this point. Allen also nearly lead a losing effort against Ulm at home, so let's just say the jury is still out.

Uh, what? It's called recruiting. They didn't evaluate a couple too well.

I agree with this line of thinking. I have no problem with Jennings starting. When the o-line plays a decent game and the receivers catch the balls that should be caught, Jennings has done enough for LSU to win those games. Harris SHOULD be getting playing time each and every game though.
