Yes, I know several people who are some miserable fricks only because they want to be. These people also want everyone around them to be miserable. Their glass isn't even half empty, it's completely empty.

Nurse, I know. I get it. My son is just a few months younger than her son was. It broke my heart just telling my son that he died and seeing his reaction. And of course I imagined being in her position. And there are additional circumstances that I won't discuss on the board, but at some point you have to decide to continue living. If not for yourself, then for your other kids and family members

Some people find some measure of comfort in being miserable, negative human beings. It fulfills the human brains desire to put its' world in order so it can reduce the chance of surprise. If everything is wrong with everything all of the time then they can be satisfied that there are no surprises because everything is as they predicted.
