There are a lot of Georgia fans who question Richt.

I am from Marietta, plenty of decent schools, but none have top football programs. Baseball and soccer reign in Marietta high schools. At least while I was there. And it most likely has to do with demographics. But I'm pretty sure Jennings played east Cobb baseball, which has produced MLB players.

Someone help me out. I thought the kid at auburn was our first priority? J. Johnson kid. We then went after jennings. I could be wrong though.

Why didn't anyone in Georgia want him. We had to go to Georgia to get their sloppy seconds and now he is starting at LSU?

That you are a moron who did not read this thread.

Richt did recruit him. However, the #6 PS-QB committed to Richt in July 2011. Jennings is the #14 PS-QB, so Jennings did not get an offer.

Richt did not offer Joshua Dobbs either. Joshua Dobbs was the #10 PS-QB. He also went to HS in Georgia. Does that mean that Dobbs is not a good QB? Dobbs was just named the "Athlon Sports National Player of the Week" after collecting 467 yards and 5 TDs in Tennessee's OT win at South Carolina.

Maybe Richt is not such a great evaluator of QB talent. Ramsey has not performed as well as Dobbs.

This is part of the offer list for Jennings.

Miles needs to stop attempting to turn these spread style QBs in high school into pro style QBs in college

Russell Shepard was the #1 recruit in the nation. We haven't done that well with our QBs.

There are not very many QBS who run a pro-style offense.

Even the QBs who are listed as Pro Style generally run a spread offense and line up in a gun. That's what Rettig did.

Well, then obviously something is broke with our evaluation system or our development system. Because it should not take a QB 3 years in ANY system except at Navy or GT to average 200 yards a game passing with more than a 50% completion percentage. That's very reasonable.

Agree with this. The offense is too hard for our QBs to learn. Biggest example was 2012 when Mett struggled all year.

Not true.

This board just has a very vocal minority. It's the same small group over and over and over . . .

Sounds great until you see both teams put up well over 600 yards and no D was played that game. What is real is that 6 guys from the state of GA started at QB for SEC teams last week.

My neighbor works in tech and referees for something to do in his spare time. He worked multiple Marietta games and his take on him the entire time was lack of arm strength, which is now obvious.

I don't see how anyone can question Richt/Bobo on QB development. They have gotten exceptional performance out of their QBs during Richt's entire tenure and consistently are in the upper tier of the SEC in offensive production. Helps to recruit talented QBs, but they obviously are able to get them to a high level of play rather quickly compared to what we continue to witness in the LSU program. It greatly helps to have multiple 3+ year starting tenure QBs like Richt has done, probably has had more of those than any other program while he has been there.

Oregon recruited him pretty heavily. His final two were LSU/Oregon.

And they run a completely different offense than LSU. He is not a fit for the offense LSU wants to run, but is a talented kid. It has been the same mistake Miles and company have made over and over.

Maybe not Mett-like but arm strength isn't the primary concern - it's playing too tentative.

Jennings' arm strength, while not outstanding, is more than enough to play QB in the SEC.

The problems that he is having is not related to his lack of arm strength.
