Where does your cousin get the garfish?
I had about 30 small ones in my fish light this morning...

That's it.

Price of short ribs has skyrocketed making it almost as affordable (pound for pound) as filet mignon.
For real doe. I was gonna buy some the other day and ended up making cheeseburgers. And the store I was at can't move them at that price. Damn near all of them end up turning green and moved to the reduced for quick sale pile.

I've used Ina Garten's recipe a number of times. Use a good wine. It's delicious.
That's the one I was looking at. That may be what I do this weekend.

Rack of lamb
You could also try some slow cooked ethnic food like Pakistani Nihari with Lamb shanks.
Or you could go with a really flavorful sauce like an Oaxacan Black Mole with some braised meat.

It doesn't need to be that complicated. It is supposed to be simple food. But it is good.
This has been one of my go to meals for years. I use turnips and carrots.
I don't think it will be quite cold enough, but if the forecast hold it might be perfect.

Or surf and turf.
Fire up the grill and do cedar plank salmon filet with lemon butter and mini lamb chops. You can do breaded pan fried cauliflower steaks and sauteed fresh green beans with bacon and garlic as sides.

It wasn't complicated at all, but it was damn good. Turnips are interesting... I love turnips.
I have AC, so the weather doesn't affect many of my dining habits. I don't care to eat crawfish out in the cold, though. They get cold and so do my hands. Heaters are much of a help to the hands or the bugs. They just overheat the body.

This weekend I am cooking down a pork tenderloin with a light gravy. Will pair with pasta, or garlic mashed potatoes. I've been on a spinach kick lately, cooked down with onions, garlic, and a little bacon.

Let me add Osso Bucco to this conversation. Easy to do and hard to mess up.

Weather is supposed to be cooling, so my big weekend cooking project will involve baking a few loaves of sourdough...

Such as garfish boulettes and gravy (cousin makes this, incredible).
Does your cousin live off Swamp Road? Because I have a friend there that makes this and it is amazing.
