Spin Off from the worst purchase thread. Does not have to be the worst purchase but something you bought that many other people never did ie. Laser Disc. Me I bought a Mini Disc player few years before the Ipod came out. Really no one bought one here in the US and I don't even think artists even put out their albums on Mini Disc. Was a cool item to own but pretty much worthless right after I bought it.

HTC EVO LTE. After the huge success and excellent dev community of the OG EVO I figured the EVO LTE was a no brainer. Sat in XDA EVO LTE forums for months waiting on the devs and users who never showed.

On the bright side I learned a lot about Android development because of this as I eventually said frick it I will do it myself.

This bad boy...Kyocera Echo

Was a pretty advanced/innovative concept, but was pretty poorly executed and very buggy

This bad boy here, the TRS-80 model 200. For that time it was actually pretty good but didn't sell well.

Wollensak 3M high end Dolby 8 track tape player. It was beautiful, it was expensive, my friends were in awe. There was no better device to squeeze every ounce of High Fidelity out of an 8 track ( )

It was DOA cause shortly around then Pioneer came out with the Super Tuner car Cassette radio.

Car Cassette industry exploded, everyone started buying cassette decks for the house and 8 track died over night...

Sold the Wollensak on Ebay last year.

I listed the laser disc player on the other thread.

I'll repost here.

I also had the Sega x32 or whatever it was called.

I guess I gave these 2 beauties the kiss of death!

This was my worst purchase.

The concept was great at the time, and I wouldn't have even minded it had it not had to be sent back to Sony twice. First time, the play/pause button on the lid stopped working. Second time, I pressed the eject button and the lid came out but not the disc. Could not get the disc out.

6 weeks both times. You'd get something else too is you paid good money for a device that spent a quarter of the first year of having it in repairs, too.

Heres mine

and I used the hell out of it. Actually I was a pda fiend.
Started with this

Then this

then this

Then the dell before getting one of these

When the Rio Riot came out in early 2002 I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. It was 20 GB of music in the palm of your hand.

I don't think many people bought them though. Obviously the iPod took off in 2004 (it was available before that, but was Mac only, etc.).

Anyway, I had all my music on there and it had an FM tuner which to this day I don't understand why iPods and smart phones don't have.
