One minor disagreement;

quote:

To the non Miles' fan it displays a willful stubbornness and an inability to adapt. Which translates into ego.

You have that backwards.

One year after an NC and significant departures, LSU went 9-2 in the regular season and was a missed extra point and bogus rule away from being another SEC title game.

Why were we in that position? Why did Saban lose to an inferior team twice? 3 times if you count Iowa. I thought you could plug in any coach and win every game at LSU with the talent we have?

Name one fricking time this has happened.
When Mett joined the team and sat the bench for a year before graduation stole JJ from CLM and he was forced to play him. That first year wasn't pretty.

You types who have never succeeded on a big stage don't know the difference between being stubborn and having faith in your abilities. You mistake arrogance for self-confidence.
Which is why the top dogs make the big bucks and people like you whine and beotch on message boards.

There is nothing wrong with a little arrogance, and yes, most successful coaches are just that, but most also learn to adapt if they want to succeed in winning championships. Meyer adjusted his offensive scheme to his talent to win a title in 2006. Saban has adjusted with various offenses under his head coaching days.

Fact is though, Miles and Chavis in particular are both arrogant to a fault. That isn't new. Adaptation is how teams win championships.

How many 550 yard beat downs do you need to see?

Well we didnt fire saban after getting beat down by UAB, we didnt fire him after getting his shite pushed in by spurrier and then zook. We didnt fire him after getting rapped by dennis franchione and a program on probation.

my sarcasm meter is off today.

But i will give you a reason. You will play mett over Lee and JJ? a guy that had been with the team for 8 months compared to 4 and 5 years. if you want to know how to lose a locker room, you start the guy who hasnt sweat and bled with he rest of the team.

That's funny that you think "WE" have the power to fire Saban or any other coach. What I want to know is how many games like last week do you have to see before you think a change is needed.

I assumed we all understood that we have no say in this decision.

Saban didn't lose twice to inferior teams, but nice try. LSU lost on the road to a 13-0 team and a 10-2 team, so I am not sure where the inferior team is that you speak of there, but anything to make your sunshine pumping seem legitimate.

So LSU, 1 year following an NC lost to 2 teams in the regular season with a combined record of 23-2. Wow, they sure lost to some bad teams that year. Furthermore, add in Iowa and it is a record of 33-4 for the teams LSU lost to in 2004, and all of those were either on the road or neutral site games. The horror!

Now let's look at Les' 2008 team's losses.
49-17 or teams with a 74% winning record versus 2004's 89% winning percentage in losses. The 2008 team lost to a 5-7 Arkansas team.

So you are telling me 2004 was some horrible season?

Slightly bigger difference.

LSU will likely have another losing SEC record this year, and it would be Miles' second in 7 years.

Is that supposed to be bad?

Players. Why recruit players that operate under the spread and can flourish when in space and bottle them up by running straight into 9 man fronts?

Nobody bitched when Jeremy Hill ran for 187 yards and 3 TDs into 9 and 10 man boxes against Auburn last year. Nearly every yard of it was using 23 personnel and I formation. LSU gave not a single frick how many men were in the box and they completely gashed that defense.

Fwiw the Saban LSU teams often played sloppy and undisciplined too, and Saban's offenses had their share of struggles. I may be wrong but it seemed Saban's teams fumbled more.

Sorry I dont have a say. so why do you or anyone want him fired when you have no say.

I will give you an answer, next season. If WE as fans dont see an improvement next year with a more experienced qb and defense, then yes it is time to move on. But I have faith that LSU actually beats UF and Kentucky and plays in a bowl game. Miles gets a mulligan like every other LSU coach has had. Les has showed loyalty to this program and deserves to right the ship. I am not willing to blow it up with the frosh class we have on campus. that is here because of Les, not YOU or any other idiot.

Forgot winning a ship and losing your DC and not hiring a proven DC after just getting a huge raise and then promoting Mallveto. That was a huge f up. Not saying that it would have mattered in 08, but maybe we get someone better then Chavis.

We don't have Hill any more and none of our RBs hits the hole as quickly and violently as Hill did.

Let's see, his first year here taking over a team that was 4-7 and 3-8 the previous two seasons, losses while rebuilding this program against the juggernaut of the conference under Spurrier, and a loss against UF in 2003 where he just managed to win the SEC and national titles in only his 4th year of a rebuilding project. Got it.

Again 2002 was still rebuilding despite the 2001 title plus he lost his starting QB after starting that season 6-1. Despite that, his team still finished above 0.500 in the SEC, which Les' team couldn't manage to do in 2008.

If we won those games they would have been 11-1 and 9-3. Im saying inferior because LSU has the most talented team in the country. Fans once told me Les was handed the most talented team in the country in 2005. So why was it in 2005 and not in 2004? was it those 8 commitments Saban had that turned 04 from 3rd best to the best in 05.

When it is 2 more than his predecessor had while rebuilding the program, yes it is.
