none

$40000
Parents weren't able to much unfortunately. It's entirely too expensive to pursue an education. Backwards arse system.

I started with about $135,000.00. I am down to $115,000

Nothing thanks to TOPS for undergrad and the most generous parents ever who paid for medical school.

Zero.
Made it through undergrad and out-of-state grad school (PhD) without taking out a single student loan.

Too damn much.
The only silver lining is that I owe less than my annual gross. But only just.

Looking at mine sitting at $3,700 left (far less than the average 27)
Subtle brag attempt noted.
Zero ever. Wife had $1k or $2k, got rid of those immediately.

None, but my long-term gf has enough for both of us. Her parents are slightly less fiscally responsible than mine.

My parents weren't poor

$15K. Down from $45K. Locked in at somewhere around 2%. Been waiting for a decade to hit a big payday and knock that shite out. Thought I had it back in 2007, but fricked up and got the wife pregnant. It'll be gone one way or the other in another 8 years with just minimum payments, so that's good.

Graduated in 1987 (long arse time ago) and had $0 thanks to mom and dad. I ran the numbers one day and figured they spent around 25K on everything college for me.
My wife had about 6K when we married. It pissed my dad off because he wanted nothing like that for me. We paid them off in about 4 years.
My daughter is going to school out of state and has an 18K a year scholarship. Unfortunately the out of state tuition fee is 21K a year. She incurred 3K her first year and is working to not barrow any her second year.
Student loans are evil. I empathize with those who have to deal with them.

GI bill for undergrad. If I decide to go back, it will be online education while I work. Or get a partial retirement from my current job and then rack up the loans for medical school.

$288k, all from attending medical school as an out of state student. Plus accrued interest from forbearance years in residency.

Originally owed $40k when I graduated in '08. Down to about $12k

Mine = 0? I'm 48 though.
My daughter's? Not real sure. Not just a ton, but she'll start law school in about a year and half, and I PRAY she gets into a great/prestigious public law school.
