For the die-hard McIntosh groupies...The new LB100 Light Box... LB100
It is for pure aesthetics, and will set you back $1500, but there is a story behind these boxes.
Back in the late ‘60’s, McIntosh would give their dealers a similar lighted logo box to display in the store. Over the years, these original lighted logo display boxes have become quite collectible, and they also look pretty cool in a full “Mac-Stack”. The original versions in good condition will run around $1000-$1500 on eBay.
The new version has 12v triggers to remotely turn it on and off with the rest of a triggered system.

I have been out of this thread too long. I’ve been listening, and reading the thread, but just haven’t posted in a while! My last record purchase was the new Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats album

My last vinyl purchase was in the 1980’s. I still have every album I purchased. Around 600 total. I might need to invest in a system.

I have a troubleshooting question about my receiver. Marantz 2200 series. It appears that one of the channels is only pushing sound through only the tweeter and the other channel appears to have become louder (sound coming out tweeter and woofer). It happened as I was listening and clearly one channel became louder. I checked my speakers and they do not seem to be the problem here. It really seems to me like the receiver is pushing more through one channel while the other channel is just sending audio to the tweeter.
Any ideas as to the problem?

Switch the L and R speaker cables....what happens?
Posted on 4/1/18 at 8:15 pm to Marco Esquandolas
Switched and same issue presents. I checked the speaker on the bad channel and it's actually getting signal but only at about 1/4 power.

Is it the same on the same side, or does the problem switch speakers when you switch the cables?

When I switch the cables connected to the receiver the problem switches to the other speaker.
I think there's an issue with power coming out of the left channel on the receiver.
When it happened the right speaker seemed to get much louder and the left channel much more quiet.

What is your source? Check cables if this is something other than radio from the receiver.

Problem stays the same with both FM tuner and turntable.

Marco, Looked into this 3As.... May be a little too much speaker from a size standpoint. Not so much for me, but the wife isn’t gonna like em. Could prolly get away with something 40-43” tall, but 48” without the feet is gonna get me sleeping in the spare bedroom.
Was fired up about them until I saw the height deminsions...
Until we get into a bigger house, I’m gonna have to be selective on the dimensions if I’m gonna move up in speaker. Which prolly hinders me more than what I thought it would. Once we move, i’ll be able to do what I want. Still a couple years away though.
