It depends on the level of deterioration.
The guy that builds the wooden bodies for Richard Gray’s custom tube power amplifiers is located right next door to Richard on Jefferson Hwy. in Metairie. Richard’s store is called National TV and Repair—it looks like a mad scientist shithole—don’t let that fool you.
The fella that does the custom wood Smith I g/cabinetry has done a few speakers if I recall.
Call National TV...Richard is usually there Monday thru Thursday 9-4ish...but he kinda makes his own hours now and also makes house calls which takes him out of the store. He has an old school answering machine which he does check, so leave info on it.

How old is the McIntosh?
Keep hinting to my buddy about my vandys... he is about to start building, I’m trying to sell him on having shite ready to go and to get his man room wired correctly. I think he is leaning towards doing it. Then I’ll bump up to the 2CE Sig 2s. There anything else at 3k and under to look at or just roll the vandys? I’ve tried to research a bit, but stuff is all over the place with what is recommended in that price range.

The K-Horns were flooded? Usually that means curtains for the bass cabinet. Its inner construction is tremendously complex. That said, the top should be fine, reproduction bass cabs are available as well as used, and parts are widely available, as are upgrades. Fantastic speakers..if you have two good corners for them and the room is right.

Looking at it again, if the cabs were flooded only 4" or so, as it appears, they should be okay soundwise. Klipschorns can be rollicking good fun and can sound very good when set up properly, upgraded judiciously, and fed the right electronics...they're finnicky about amps and preamps. The amp needs to shine at very low power output.

Yeah I think everything is okay but the wood, he lives in Tampa Bay ,but this happened in little Rock, Arkansas. He's going to transfer them to his home there and try to have someone build a new case. He's not really internet savvy, what would be the first move if it were you guys?

I was wondering if you know of a few websites that focus on reviewing/announcing high quality vinyl reissues?

I’ve never read a better description of music and placing it at a certain time period in your life. This is from the liner of Fleet Foxes LP.
I know it is small print, but just zoom in and read it—good stuff.

The Steve Hoffman forums are really good for this. Also really good for finding the best older and original pressings.

Yeah I’ve been using them recently when looking for reissues, and have picked up a lot of information I had never thought about or just wasn’t aware of. But I’m also wondering if there are no forum websites dedicated to the reviews and announcements of reissues, I’ve come across analogplanet so far.

By building a new case, do you mean a new bass cabinet? That is a tall order. It's not a box, not by a wide stretch.

He just said the insurance company was going to pay to get it completely restored. He wanted to keep those because his father passed those down to him and he passed away. I'll check out the link thank you
