Wow.

Other than assisting the racist agendas of people like Jeremiah Wright Toure, etc, what constructive purpose is served by pretending it is 1956?

We have both a President and and Attorney General who are race-baiting scumbags, and I'm supposed to be concerned about some old cartoons?

Nobody said there wasn't racism 50 years ago, you idiot.

My question is, what purpose is served by pretending that conditions are still the same as they were 50 years ago?

Ah, good ol mammie two shoes. She was the housekeeper for several episodes. A large black woman with an apron, seen from the neck down, with large busoms and light palms.

I always thought she was funny. As a kid I never thought it made black women look bad. It was just a caricature-"ha, it's a stern black lady!"
That was all. At the time in the 30's and 40's I'm sure there were a lot of black maids and no offense was meant by it.

She actually made the show a lot better imo

I don't know. I never watched Tom and Jerry. The clip showed her as walking into the kitchen. I guess that caused Tom and Jerry to continue some sort of plot. It was really low level humor. I preferred Rocky and Bulwinkle.

It was the perfect cartoon format for the cold war period. Boris was the agent of Fearless Leader.

My favorite line:

Agent in trench coat: Army Intelligence.
Bullwinkle: Sounds like a contradiction in terms.

She always reminded me of a woman that worked for my grandmother. A fantastic woman who was stern with me when I was little, guess I'm a racist for this...

This stuff is getting out of hand. They can show women in little to nothing on prime time television yet they are going back to "Tom and Jerry" to find racism like it's the worst thing on the television.

I don't understand what the big outrage is here, just more diverting attention from the true problems out there I guess.
