Bill is responsible for giving Lowe such a great platform. If you like Lowe you must like/defend Simmons.
Barnwell and Mays suck, but let's not talk about that...

Correct. He got spanked for being uppity.

What, do they think they're gonna take Monday night football away from them?
Pussies.

Be awesome if deadspin really upped their "frick espnness" and hired him to a mega deal. Not only did they suspend him but they pulled the podcast down,
Deadspin is "too cool" and "too liberal" for Simmons IMO. They've been too hard on Simmons for Bill to consider joining them.
If anything, BS would tap into his Kimmel/Carrolla network of friends and use his 30 for 30 / Jon Hamm relationships to do bigger and better things. Maybe write a tell-all or something.
Honestly I bet the only thing that might hold him back would be that he'd feel responsible if anything happened to his folks at Grantland.

for real.
I agree with what he said though.
but I don't like the politically correct approach by most out there today (ESPN in this case). I think its fricking pathetic someone can't speak their mind without people getting all over reactionary with their fake outrage.
In my opinion Simmons is hardly some football guru so his opinions won't be missed in the next 3 weeks.
i just think it is kinda messed up that he caught some shite I actually agree with him on for once (football related).

Listen, I just like to listen to the cousin sal podcast and I didn't get to this weeks before it got pulled. Does anyone know where I can hear the whole thing?
Posted on 9/25/14 at 12:06 am to SirWinston
He's looking for the whole thing (I'd like to hear it as well, I listen to it every week and didn't have time to get to this one). That only has links to clips.
Probably need someone that downloaded the podcast from itunes to upload it.

frick ESPN. This is the same company that got so caught up in propagating Goodell's bountygate bullshite that they wrote that absurd story about Loomis being investigated by the FBI because he was bugging the Superdome to spy on opposing coaches. It was just complete fabrication and ESPN quietly took it down a few days later. Who got fired for that? Where was the journalistic integrity then? Guess it doesn't matter as long your peddling Goodell's bullshite. I know it's just sports news, but it's scary how much influence the nfl has. Makes you wonder how much influence billion dollar corporations have over more serious media coverage

It seems ESPN isn't messing around with this whole Bill Simmons suspension thing. An hour after announcing the suspension, ESPN yanked down the offending podcast. It is no longer listed on the B.S. Report podcast landing page, the page that hosted it was pulled, and the direct link to the podcast doesn't work.
Frick, this is annoying.

Does not matter if you like ESPN or not. You don't bite the hand that feeds you. Simple rule. Bill Simmons can go from being on top of world to irrelevant in a second and he stepped over the line. Any employer would have done same thing.

It just shows how hated ESPN is.

Not really sure how real the hate for ESPN is. I don't like my brother in law and I do everything I can to avoid him. People that hate ESPN are watching it every day.

What good is authority if it can't be challenged?

I'm all for challenging authority. That being said, you do it behind doors, not by openly challenging your bosses on a widely followed podcast. What were they supposed to do?

Same thing they're doing with olberman - nada.
