My 3 almost 4 yr old daughter has been hounding me for a puppy for about 3 months. Her birthday is in 6 weeks. I am looking for any suggestions where I can get a TeaCup Yorkie puppy in the Lafayette area. I know they are somewhat pricey, how much am I looking at?
TIA

just get her a puppy from the SPCA. Those toy brands come with many problems. They are also a bitch to house break because they hate being outside.

Don't get a teacup yorkie for a 4 year old.
ETA: go rescue a young lab mix.

Does 4 seem a little young for a dog to anyone else?

It's not that hard to find a reputable breeder and get a perfectly healthy dog.

Teacups are 1-2 pound pups and they have tons of health issues. I would get something in the 3-4+ pound range. My mother has several Yorks and the bigger dogs have a lot fewer issues overall than the teacups.

There's a billion puppies out there about to be put down. Plus they aren't as spoiled and will love you forever.

Free advice.
Do not get a teacup unless you want the dog to have health problems and cost you shite tons of money. There is no such thing as a teacup. It's simply a tiny arse mother and a tiny arse father bred to *attempt* to be small.
Our biggest yorkie is 10lbs, mom was 3 pounds and dad was 1.5 pounds. The size of the parents doesn't always translate to the pup.
They are small anyway, just find a reputable breeder or someone who can at least produce documentation from the vet.

There's a Yorkie rescue in BR. Tons of Yorkies that NEED good homes. And many are certified good with children.

Good responses for the most part. Had no idea about the health issues for the teacups. Any suggestions on other small dogs in the 3-8 lb range?

A lot of those are rather ugly.

Could you make the pictures just a little bigger?
