I can't think of any reason why that would happen.

Do you actually think the scum running drugs cares about their people's relation to Catholicism? REALLY?
And, I'm sure that the cartels wouldn't give a rip about some of the cool little toys that ISIS could supply them with that we supplied them with and they took from the Syrian and Iraqi military.
The best thing that could happen for the cartels is for more chaos to be created. That just creates them more customers, not eliminate them.

You people are hilarious... You think Isis is going to pay the Cartels to send Mohammed and Habib knowing they going to blow stuff up?
It's more likely Isis would use a converted/ hired jose or a juan to do their bidding unbeknownst to the cartel traffickers...

like what? tanks?
if the cartel is found to have American tanks or military weaponry that we gave ISIS, we will carpet bomb the cartels
how does that work out for them?

you know nothing, john snow
chaos increases transportation and distribution costs exponentially. chaos is the LAST thing cartels and drug dealers want

And you have decided to let major news corporations do your thinking for you, regardless of whether it makes sense or not.
Am I doing this right?

Thanks for posting this. Now everyone here knows that you have no clue what you're talking about.

The sure sign of a fool is someone that's so arrogant and closed-minded they think any opinion that does not agree with their own is foolish.

i'm willing to hear a rational reason why the cartels would take the risks of joining with ISIS
still waiting, but willing

The CIA agent I quoted earlier gave a valid reason. You attacked and discounted the source though so you never had to bother addressing what he said.

You've presented the conjecture of an ex CIA officer and presented as fact. That's not evidence.

Mike Baker is such an expert on Latin/Central American affairs that he has publicly stated the CIA was never involved in drug running

I'm saying it's "possible" and I'm basing my opinion that it's possible based off of people who know far and have access and connections far better than I. You're saying it's impossible based on the fact you think your smarter than anyone else.
Posted on 9/5/14 at 9:17 am to Darth_Vader
so you believe that the cartels will risk their very existence and american distribution network for a very small, very short-term revenue stream?

I'm saying it's improbable based on the fact that I have a functional brain and am somewhat familiar with both narcos and ISIS
as well as having friends in the FBI and CIA with whom I often have casual conversations on various national securtiy issues.

I never said anything about "fact". I posted his statements to say it's possible that ISIS is a threat to our south. I never said a word about what he said being "factual". I posted his words and gave my opinion for giving more weight to what he said than what random dudes on a message board said. The only one's who are claiming to have "facts" are Pilot and SloFlo.
And speaking of "conjecture", what makes you think the "conjecture" coming from Pilot or SloFlo is any more valid than this CIA guy? What credentials do they have to trump his?

Still claiming to be smarter than every everyone else here. And are your "friends" in the FBI & CIA based in Mexico? I cited a CIA guy a bit ago and was told that unless he's based in Mexico he his opinion of what's going on there is bullshite.
