Regardless, I think this season is going to be one of the more fun to watch as a fan. But I don't get one thing...

Many who are expecting +-3 losses this season are saying NEXT year, "Look out". I don't see it like that with the losses on the OL next season. I'd say THIS season, although quite the challenge with youth at the offensive skill positions, is the year to make the playoff. Things have to fall into place, but then again, don't they always have to fall into place for LSU to have a special year?

L at Auburn: LSU's defense does a good job against the AU offense. However, I don't think anyone can "shut down" AU's O. They will score at least 21. JHS is an underrated and tough place to play. It might be AU's biggest home game of the year, so the crowd will be into it all game. AU's defense will be (though not great) better than last season. Tight game, but a big LSU TO and big AU play late gives AU just enough to win (think 2010)

L at UF: I thought UF was the worst 11-1 team I had ever seen two years ago, and wasn't surprised at all to see them have a horrible year last season. That said, there are still a lot of good players on that team. Defensively they'll be good, and offensively they have to be better than last season. Like JHS, the Swamp is a tough place to play. This will be the game that haunts LSU fans. Like 2010 and 2012, LSU will jump on UF early but fail to put the nail in the coffin when they have the chance. UF will stay in the game and make just enough plays to win in the 4th.

L at A&M: No JFF, but A&M will still have an upper-tier SEC offense. The defense can't be any worse, and they have recruited well. If this game were in Sept or Oct. I think LSU wins. However, there always seems to be that one game where LSU lays an egg (generally it's been against Ark.), this is it. With the game on Thanksgiving night, there will be a general malaise over the team. A&M jumps on LSU early, but the Tigers respond to make it a fight in the 4th quarter. Unfortunately, at home, A&M makes a few big plays late to win the game.

Depends on QB play. With our schedule I honestly think 8&4, I hope I am wrong but we will have to wait & see

All I'm really nervous about is our D-line. I'm not worried about the QB situation - see 2011. We could definitely win it all this year, but Auburn, Florida, and Bama are a toss up this year I think.

When Auburn's been ranked high, we've lost 3 very close games. (like 8 points total in the 3 losses).
There was no excuse for losing that game in 2006. AU wasn't even that good that year. Either way, what I said before holds re Miles at Auburn.

I am not making any predictions. I am gonna just enjoy the season, but everyone gauranteeing a Bama loss because of our QBs. Bama has young first time starter QBs also. Again we are built just like them. That one is a toss up at this point.

We have done more with less in the past. Just sit back and enjoy the ride

I think 4 to 5 losses is reasonable this year. Minimum of 3

3 losses would not shock me.

Like most seasons for me. 10 wins and a NYD bowl is what I expect.

Anything over that is icing.

I could easily see 9-3 or 8-4. Or, 11-1. It all depends on how quickly the young guys gell and step up - something that NONE of us know, not even the coaches. Not even the players themselves.

A young team is an inconsistent team. We could beat Alabama and lose to Florida and Missississippi State. There is no way to predict what will happen. We have a challenging schedule and all of our skill position players on offense are brand new. There is no way to know which direction things will go.

This team could run the table or end up 7-5 - or anywhere in between. It is a mystery, which is why LSU is ranked #13 and all of the experts are hedging their bets.

If the QB under performs and the freshmen don't make a big splash this year, we could easily lose any combination of:

Alabama
UF
Ole Miss
Auburn
Wisconsin

We lost 3 games last year with a 3000yd QB, 2 1000yd WRs and a 1000yd RB and yall think we wont lose 3 or more this year? I hope you guys are right, but I am not so optimistic.

Auburn - Miles has never beaten AU on the plains if AU is anything more than the worst team in the SEC. They figure to be at least "good" this year, so it's a likely defeat

Miles has lost twice @ Auburn, in 2006 by 4 to an Auburn team that finished 11-2 and in 2010 to an Auburn team that finished as undefeated national champions.
I've compiled a list of teams with fewer wins @Auburn than LSU since Miles has been at LSU:
EVERY NCAA FOOTBALL TEAM.

I honestly think losing three would be optimistic. I could see 4 or 5 losses as we rebuild our offense. Just depends on how fast our QB develops. The rest of the conference is better this year and we are rebuilding.

But that is why we play these games and no one really knows.

Hoping for the best.

I have attended 5 LSU @ AU games and LSU lost everyone. I quit going, things didn't change much, it is very difficult for a road team to win there and some unusual shite seems to occur during games.

It's all about the QB's and WR corps, they come together and play well losses could be minimal, ie not 4. If LSU has to run the ball 65-70% of the time vs SEC teams it might be a hard season to watch, LF or no LF. If the D has made significant progress since last year LSU should be in every game with a chance to win, then we will start hearing the grousing about GERD/heart attack possibilities during tight games, etc. At least both QBs can move their feet and extend plays, that is an improvement from last season.
