He's talking about officers wearing cameras. What about that officer last week who turned hers off before shooting a guy?

NOPD Chief of Police has to be by far the worst job in the country.

Ultimate no-win situation.

A horribly crime-ridden city, and if you try too hard (whether you are white OR black), you are labelled racist by the black community. If you are afraid of being labelled a racist by the black community, you are labelled a do-nothing and/or worthless by the white community. It's an impossible tightrope to walk. And as you fail, everything gets worse and you are to blame.

Man I was reading the comments and the new interim police chief appointment has more open sores than a meth addict.
Look at this letter some commenter linked to.

Nashville tried to warn us about him.

Come to think about it, since he left, we don't see so much police news here anymore; no pressers, no issues.

Just heard the real story of the black officer who killed the black citizen last week.

Cop pulled guy over 10 days prior for routine traffic stop and he was disrespectful. During the routine stop from the killing, she turned off her car camera and scanner, and shot at the man 6 times. The story was it looked like he was reaching for something in his glove box. He ended up being unarmed.

Can't believe this story hasn't blown up around town. Not surprised Serpas was forced into retirement after this.

Think you found your answer. Only makes news if it was a white officer.

Hopefully this will increase moral and maybe they can retain some officers.

Well, the City Council just took $2 million from NOPD that was budgeted for new academy classes and gave it to NOFD for the pension mess. Not exactly a morale booster for the police department.
