Everything is always negotiable. Raise hell and stand your ground in order to milk as much out of it as you can. They think you'll be a pushover and want quick money. Drag it out then eventually they'll cave (your attorney and the insurance company).

Policy limits are likely $25,000. Insurance company wants to save 1k off that and settle. A new lawyer won't change the available recovery.

This is not advice. I am not a lawyer.

He filed a lawsuit for me already. I just wanted to know what the adjuster will offer me because my lawyer is insisting me to go back to the doctor. He told me the policy limit is worth around $250,000

Then he probably gets 40%, plus expenses. Not 1/3. But that should be in your engagement letter or contract.

If he filed suit, and can only tell you that the policy limit is "around" that, you might want to find another attorney that can find out exactly what the limits are.

Tell your attorney to tell your doctor to request expensive, major surgery whether you actually need it or not.

I love when my clients ask the internet or their auntie for legal advice when they hired me for it. This thread is hilarious.

PB: "Doc, give it to me straight. I need to know my diagnosis and prognosis".

Doctor: "Well, you got 2 serious bulging discs. The MRI from proven to be from the car accident. You have more broken discs but it wasn't as serious."

PB: "Kthanks. Can you help me with some math regarding my settlement"?

I backed into someone backing out of my driveway. I was going no more than 3 to 4 mph. I left on very minor dent on her fender. The bitch got 19k.

the longer you treat and the more serious your injury, the more money you get.

If you have 9k in medicals and 2 bulges on your MRI, you should have been referred to a neuro or pain interventionist by now.

I'm guessing her bulging discs weren't quite as serious or her MRIs weren't proven.

But his bulges are "serious". His atty should have gotten policy limits by now.

Can we use the constant big brother state in this country with surveillance and spying, to fight lawyers and dumb lawsuits? I'd almost rather those people punished over Islamic terrorists.

1) this is my first car accident
2) for someone my age, its impossible for me to have broken discs so it can be proven that I got it from the car accident.

My plan is to hear what the adjuster have to offer me, which I know will be very low. If not, I can take them to court to get more money
