I'm flying Southwest for the first time this December. Should I expect poor service and a poor experience?

I love SW...never had a bad experience.

So, she won the insecurity pissing contest.

Lesson: Never bring hashtags to a nametag fight.

Yes. Without a doubt.

um... southwest is far and away the best airline from a customer service standpoint. I try to fly them exclusively.

You would have been arrested for not complying with the airline employee

probably. and people would've felt sorry for me and i would've made national news

"Man arrested in front of his two children for sending mean tweet"

that lady would've had to go into hiding

You broke the law, why would they feel sorry for you? I agree it was absurd but I would have complied and never flown the company again on my own dime

Why jump through the hoops if there is clearly no need. Getting arrested would accomplish zilch

Fly more and you will.

They suck pretty bad which means they don't horrifically suck like all the other majors.

They're catching up, though.

On one hand it's such a beta move to tweet your frustration

What's even more beta is that when the agent declined to let his kids board with him, he essentially implied in the story he automatically got rude with them and started talking about he was going to tweet about it.

Judging from the story, he apparently likes to tweet a lot about stupid airport stuff.

That, and the fact that he posted her name for all the world to see. Dude is a little bitch. And TSA sucks (but we already knew that).

I've had terrible experiences and also great ones. I'm flying them tomorrow morning to TPA so I guess I'll see which one I get.

I have noticed though that if you fly with them in the morning, most of the time their planes aren't delayed and the people are generally nicer. Afternoon and evening add at least an hour onto your trip cause their 30/35 minute turns at MSY are ridiculous.

Who the hell brags about being an A-lister with southwest?

"Hey guys it's cool. I got lunch. Got my Subway card punched 9 times already"

That's what I was thinking. I've never used them, and likely never will, but aren't they like the WalMart of airlines?

This story doesn't make any sense. The only "priority boarding" that A-list guarantees you is after family boarding. Should have been able to board earlier due to the kids regardless of his status.

All airlines suck. Ive actually had the least amount of problems with Southwest, most with United and Delta.

Tweeting is how you get great customer service.

I've had Delta's twitter folks change my ticket when I was in a bind before

Fly all the time and Southwest is by far the best. Cheapest tickets, no change fees, most reliable, etc

They're all out of the minds thinking SW is a bad airline. As a musician, they're the best I've ever been around. Delta broke a $1700 guitar of mine because they made me check it and then even after putting the proper care in the case to protect it, they tossed it around like it was a pillow. When I complained they told me tough shite and to take it up with my insurance.

I heard from a friend that SW is really good to musicians and lets you carry on instruments as large as a guitar. My $2800 guitar has not only been allowed on the plane but also been placed in the flight attendants' closet up front for safe keeping. That's four flights (round trip) where I've received that kind of treatment.

It pisses me off that people get so upset about trivial shite that they do stuff like what that guy did. It's an inconvenience, not a death sentence. You don't need to try to get someone fired/reprimanded over something so trivial

She's the one that overreacted to something trivial.

He put out a completely unthreatening "I'm pissed off" tweet and gave her first name - just like tons of other dissatisfied customers do every day.

She then proceeded to kick him off the plane - apparently in fear of her life because he called her rude on twitter and created a PR nightmare for her company.

If the story is accurate, she absolutely SHOULD be fired.

Dude tried to cut his kids in line. They didn't have his priority. Then he whines about it on Twitter. Bitch move IMHO. Go ride another airline and pay full price for 3 tickets together.

Every delta agent I've dealt with when traveling with a non-status passenger has allowed my companion(s) to board with me.
